As I have said multiple times, the laws are made in such a way to be completely fair, but (and this is the part that I am emphasizing) The precedent has been set in a way that the written law can almost be ignored.

i'm talking about actual cases, not the law itself. i've yet to see any evidence for what you are asserting.

(sigh) This is to be expected, especially in our economic times. Even when the economy is strong, there will always be those who will sell their bodies for money. Prostitution (which is basically what 'Sugar daddies and babies' is) is one of the oldest 'professions' in human history, due to societal gender constructs. To me, though, this is just yet another way that the rich exploit the poor. College education is not entirely covered by the government, so people have to pay for it with grants, loans, etc. Lots of people can't even afford to go to college and thus repeat a generational cycle of having lousy jobs and remaining poor. Most who can have some form of debt, some larger then others depending on their family's prior economic status, what school they go to, and other factors. Even if one obtains a degree, it does not grantee a job, hence 'Sugar Babies'. Meanwhile, the rich 'Sugar Daddies' sit around in luxury and can afford the girls' 'services'. I could go on and on about why capitalism is evil and corrupt, but so is this 'Sugar Babies' business. I can understand a girl's reasons for wanting/needing to do this, but at the same time, I don't sympathesize. During the 'transaction', she is not only selling her body, but her human dignity as well and I hold such individuals in low regard. This wouldn't be an issue if college were free or at least reduced in cost where is was affordable to the common man (or woman in this case) but that's not going to happen. This is just another sad and pathetic aspect of American society.

Only $1000-3000 for a month's worth of service? I think that's cheaper than marriage.

True that! And more honest, too. Instead of dressing up the whole exchange in layers and layers of god-knows-what, all the cards are laid out on the table right off the bat. That, plus the two parties discuss on their first date what's requires from each party. (I borrowed the business term "SLA", Service Level Agreement, to describe this.) If one party does not agree with the SLA, they are free to end the arrangement, or simply not engage in it in the first place.

I got viciously attacked by a few people (whose names I won't mention, but they know who they are) earlier in the thread. And I think I know why: sugar daddy relationships scare the general public with how honest they are. So when someone points out the honesty, they react in the most face-saving way they know: attacking the speaker. Why? Beats me. But if attacking someone who points out honesty helps them sleep at night, more power to them.

It would be great if you could buy actual genuine love and affection the way you can buy sex. But you can't...

Western society's obsession with perfect romantic love is just stupid.

Not trying to fool anyone. Just don't see the appeal.
