I was curious about how the rents are in Beirut. Idle curiosity. That's it :)

Around $800 monthly for new renters , those who were under an old rental agreement (prior 1992) paid much less due to a law to protect tenants, aka known as the “old rent” law — a law that was introduced in 1992 after the end of the civil war. They froze all rental agreements signed before this date, which do not take into consideration inflation, the increase in rental housing market, and the local pound collapse during war year. But now this law is being gradually revoked by a new law, so people who were paying like $100 a month are gonna pay like $1000 a month in 6 years, I'll expect a lot of homelessness since most of those are old people with little support...

I wonder if I’d left out the mom part if people been as reactionary.

Something like "How does a single stay at home parent make enough money to make ends meet?" would have been a good way to go. I know several and aranger, I think it was, mentioned how their mom does it. Many people have told you possible ways. The way the original post was phrased very much comes across as being judgmental of the mom for not working and makes it seem like you think it has to be alimony (ie some wounded ex supporting her lazy ass). There is literally NO way you can know how that specific stay at home mom supports herself unless she chose to tell you. Setting it up aimed at one specific dating site profile of a woman made it feel very judgmental of that specific woman who we literally know nothing about and never will. There is no way to answer how she supports herself.

I saw her profile and I wonder how I used it as example. I didn’t share her name or profile so I don’t see how it’s bad. I really do feel men just can’t talk about women here like at all. Seems wp puts women on a pedestal.
People judge me all the time without knowing my reasons or situation that’s just how the world works. They do it to my face, it’s not like I messaged her rudely and and judged her. I just came to ask what I believed to be a harmless question and people took it personal for reasons beyond me.

On a side note
I’m so tired of this “ have you’re life together” s**t.
Why not just date people who’ll love you , make you happy and treat you well?

I live in a poor city and our rent is $1000 for most apartments and houses.
Almost 1500 I hear in Eugene and way more In Portland.

I dont know how much longer people will be able to live in my state, wage stays the same. Rent and other expenses keep climbing.

This threads original point is all gone, it’s about boos finically situation and how horrible pereon I am now.

I’ve already made two threads recent and I guess we’re limited to 2 a day per section.
Are you saying to do so cause you find it annoying?

Or cause you want to talk about the subject? If the later I don’t expc anything to come from such a talk as most support then idea here.

Well, not bad per my country's standards.

I make a similar amount to that, a bit more, but not much. Work 8 - 4 as a gardener right now. Since I live with my parents my accommodation prices are split over the whole family, so I've not had to spend much of my money. I'm somehow wealthier than even the white-collar guys I know, purely because I'm big on saving rather than spending. I have the safety net needed to keep me afloat for a long time while unemployed (not that I plan on being unemployed).

It's the one thing I have going for me over other guys my age - my financial situation is very stable. I could take a lady I fancy to a trip oversees, or buy a shiny new car with the snap of my fingers right now. Most people my age in this region can't say the same, so that's the one thing I've got going for me. Now if I can just break into a nice white-collar career without wasting a fortune and four years of my life at University that would be delightful.

An average house to rent here is $300 - $350 per week.

I might be able to do the fancy restaurant once in a while---but certainly not the trip overseas. My wife pays for our trips overseas. She makes more than me--and that's okay. She works a lot harder, too.

I've never thought about a woman's income when I started digging her. I have found that many women really didn't think about mine, either. As long as I can take them to a movie and dinner (which was much cheaper, it must said, in the 1980s). A movie was like maybe 3-4 dollars a person, and a dinner for two in a decent restaurant about in the $30 range. I took home about, let's say, about $800 a month in the early 80s. My rent was $300 a month.

Wasn't that what this thread was about in the first place? He mentioned it right there in the first post.

Most of them care now. Then again nyc has thousands more women then men so they probably have the opposite effect and are more desperate where as here we have thousands of more men and so women are more picky then average.

I googled refit about men working retail and most women said it’d bother them if he planned to work it for long term, but it’s ok if he’s in college or it’s temporary. It’s a deal breake for most.

You're so dramatic. I'm stating what I saw in the first post. Nothing less, nothing more.

Does not mean I don't like you.
