No I am not affiliated with Yale.

The topic in general is a great topic question, however It should be moved to a new thread where it can be discussed without being linked to the original inaccuate quote.

Icarus, On a personal note while you have every right to refuse my request, It inappropriate and uncalled for, for you to mock me and question my integrity(by asking me if I work for Yale or USA today thereby implying I have some secret hidden agenda). I have done nothing to merit that.

Mock you? I do not believe I have done so. My question was simple, straightforward, and honest. I did not intend to mock you. In fact, I do not follow; what did I say that you took as mockery?

As for integrity, why would you consider it a lack of integrity to be associated with Yale or USA Today? If that is the case, I could completely understand why you might want the thread killed; it was a straightforward explanation that I readily wondered about, so I asked. If not, I was still wondering why, and in fact asked directly.

As for secret, hidden agendas - we all have them. I assume you had some agenda for wanting the thread killed, else you would not have mentioned it. Since you did not elaborate much on your reasoning for wanting the thread killed, your agenda for doing so was secret and hidden to me, by definition; there is no wrong in this, it is simply the way of things. So, I asked about it. It is that simple. In turn, I attempted to explain my agenda to you; if I was unclear, plase ask; I'm always happy to elaborate.

In any case, please forgive me. I have Asperger's Syndrome; I tend to be blunt and to the point, and people often confound my communications with words or meanings that aren't there, and preceive injury or unsult where none is inteneded.

I appreciate your honesty and straightforwardness in calling me out on this matter.

Good fortune,

- Icarus the Misinterpreted

I have aspergers too...

I realized I may have misperceived things...and I overreacted.
I deal a bit too much with NT's

The reason why I wanted the thread closed was because it was based on what I believed to be an inaccurate story.
Having read your disclaimer...I withdraw my request.

Ive been in the position of having a newspaper reporter put words in my mouth in an article that someone else actually said
and having an editor basically call me a liar because thats what their reporters notebook said despite the fact they had no
tape receordings of the statement and my recollection of the event was far better than his.

The topic is legitimate even if I believe the article is not.
