This thread got self-deprecating much faster than I expected.

When approaching a door, I try to push it open with my mind. It's never worked and I've never had any reason to believe I have telekinesis, but I figure it doesn't hurt to try.

When seated in a restaurant, I prefer to face the door. That way if my evil doppelganger from the multiverse or my time-traveling future self shows up to assassinate me I will be able to see it coming.

I have an unusual superpower. Anything I can imagine happening won't happen. So if I say I can't imagine a second date with you that's actually a good thing.

I might be almost 40, but I’m not above climbing trees, especially if I cross paths with an especially tempting one.

I can use my tongue to tie a knot in the stem of a Maraschino cherry.

I won various awards in college, worked as a TA, and graduated summa cum laude, but I’ve been an abysmal failure ever since. I don’t do anything half-assed. :ninja:

You're brilliant. ^ It really shows, even here where you put us all to shame.
Is there any way you could take a class or go back to grad school on subsidy?

I told MR about feeling like Alison in Breakfast Club.
He's never seen it so that might be on the ticket later this week.

I don’t know about that but thank you!

I’m a thesis short of an MA. I had to quit due to my sh***y situation at the time. Even with that, I was pursuing a special interest, not something that had any practical purpose…for me, especially. I’m just not suited for anything. I’d like to be a professional student, but that tends not to pay well.

I don’t even care about money at this point, though. I need something very low stress, enjoyable, and part-time until my mental health improves, if it ever does. Damn trauma.

I like my own space and freedom. I am not a good cook or cleaner. I don't want to have children.

That's probably what i would tell someone if i seriously considered dating them. (i live in a very sexist society where being a good cook and doing housework is expected of women so it is not weird to tell these things in advance)

I love it!

I also rub blankets on my lips to check softness.
Fruit IS disgusting, except for berries and the occasional green apple.
Everything else is me too, minus the Anime and Manga stuff or eating chicken.

I love to cook and bake. I make wonderful bread, especially brioche. I use Julia Child’s recipe and try to talk like her when I’m kneading dough.

- I know how to paddleboard. I can stand up on the board and steer.

- I've written and acted in a short film. It's not the best but it was fun to make.

- During lockdown I considered making another short film, where I was playing all of the characters. Even picked out a soundtrack. It was mostly as a joke. However, I ended up scrapping the project.

- I was a very skilled mountain biker
- Give me mountains and bikes or give me liberty
- I knit in the summer
- I'm afraid of card games
- I'm afraid of driving through a car wash so you'll have to do that for me

Me too!

Am I missing a punchline?

I've met lots of mountain bikers, and they've all been adrenaline junkies, and practically fearless. And in Florida there aren't even any real mountains.
