Tom, good video and I agree wholeheartedly with all you said. I haven't seen anyone lose it in this thread though. Everything seems civil enough to me. *shrugs*
Aren't you seeing things in complete black and white?
I thought you were the one doing that. Tom has laid out an approach which can be applied and which works for a sole objective: get one self laid. Given that the vast majority of people on this site by their own admission have no chance at getting with anyone, why are you and others having such a go at him?
Not every woman is going to like the same set of traits in a man. Different strokes for different folks and all that. Do you honestly think that all the females who have claimed that Tom's approach is a complete turn-off are liars?
In a club/ bar I know that this strategy (for someone who is not very good at it) is going to work in around 33% of cases and more importantly it is efficient. You would have to be very unlucky not to be going home with someone who is a half-decent person (on all levels). Now let us suppose that for arguments sake that there is a minority that do not follow this system and are looking for this "nice guy" concept. The only problem is that there is no defined approach nor anyway of identifying such people. Not to mention that there are many subgroups of this type. The probability of meeting someone even with such an approach is a lot smaller. Strategically your approach is very flawed for a guy to take. The whole system is a game, like it or not. Most of the stuff written in these books is written and structured around rather brutal and structured, as a strategic approach for getting laid / into a relationship, it has a very high success probability. In fact most of it is written and planned out by ex-mathematics students.
But anyway, suppose I fit your concept of "nice guy" (and please tell me what it is). How do I show you that? Genuine question, if you feel like answering it.
My intentions were not to have a go at Tom or anyone else for that matter. I just disagree that most women will respond warmly to having a man try to 'put her in her place' and throwing insults and expecting positive attention out. Not to mention that I find it naive that anyone thinks there is any single fail-proof system to picking someone up.
Maybe I didn't make the distinction between whether this was about getting laid or initiating a possible relationship. I took it as the latter. Whether that was unclear from the beginning or it just wasn't obvious to me, I can't tell. If it is simply about getting into bed with someone, then fair enough, and as I said, maybe it would work on some women. I still don't agree that the majority would fall for it as easily as you're saying they would, although a quick shag would come faster than a relationship. Then again, I don't frequent bars and clubs, so I've never heard of the results of such a strategy. I'm simply basing this on what I've heard from other women and my own thoughts and feelings.
I think someone needs to go out with a hidden camera and report back.

That is one time where I'm glad someone beat me to it.

Tom, if you are serious about seduction/getting the leg over, whatever, make a RIGID PERSONAL DISCIPLINE of tidying up the drawer area and making the bed before switching the camera on???
You KNOW it makes sense...
I discern from the use of glasses, slicked down hair and stubble that you are not entirely happy being perceived as a pretty boy with nice eyes and would rather be taken more seriously...and the quasi tubercular cough shows that you have taken our comments to heart and now prefer to show a more vulnerable side...
Now, to business...
If "your opinions are not you" then they ought to be...otherwise you are not being true to yourself...or honest with those you address, because your opinions are formed by who you are and you experiences of life.
In 12 years I have always found that I reacted to the same people exactly the same way, on or off, the internet, though, if anything, I can get a far better picture of who they are over the internet.
What you are talking about is actually not how to communicate who you are, or even your opinions, but how to manipulate an online discussion in your favour...
What you say should always be more important than how you say it...and how YOU feel about what you say should always be more important than how other people react to it...
To be honest, WP is far more civilised than any other forum I know of, perhaps BECAUSE people are, usually, far more interested in communicating in a literal way than in manipulating for approval or attention.

Well in all honesty the textbook is kind of a lot more complicated than that. Feel free to read it and make your own mind up, though personally as I have said, Ledochowski is the best tool in my opinion. Not the Mystery Method, which most here seem to be using.
The thing is that most of the people on this site at this rate are going to get neither. One thing can lead to another, certainly the increased confidence is going to exponentially increase their chances of a relationship. You see where I am going with this.
You are like university age - seems kind of strange to me that you avoid the former. The latter I might understand.
Honestly how many women are going to admit that this works on them though? Anyway, you kind of haven't said how a nice guy can allure a nice girl. I would love to know to be honest.
I suppose when my (NT) friend is pissed enough again, I might consider recording the whole thing. Remind me in a month after exams if you are really bothered. Though I have seen this in action, there is a small group in Durham who explicitly play the game whom I randomly ended up being friends with.
Which woman?
This doesn't work; this is why social situations are so difficult for those with an ASD, because we try to use our logic to understand that which NTs understand intuitively.
What place is this, if I may ask? My place is wherever I say it is, and if anyone decided to try and "put me in my place", they'd end up with a broken nose.
Arrogance is unattractive; get the hell away from me.
Because you wouldn't want the girl to think that you actually liked her, or were interested, or anything.
How is insulting someone "testing them"? Can't this be done just by talking to them?
Jerk who needs to have some bones broken.
Neither I nor any of my friends would; and if most women would, they are stupider/more insecure than I thought.
You've just met me... (besides, I've broken your nose, remember. Do you enjoy pain or something?)
This is such an obvious pick-up tactic; if it was obvious to a guy that I was a deep thinker it would be obvious from my words; he wouldn't need some mysterious way of being able to "just tell".
All good traits.
That's not the problem; the problem is really sucky social skills that can and do get in the way of showing that someone is a decent person.
Poor guy...
QFT.
Thanks for warning us what might come our way, Tom.
You go Tom!
Don't the this anti-seductive bunch bring you down.
You are on the right path and you inspire me.

I'm not sure seduction as a lot of people conceptualize it even exists. The idea that you can create attraction where it does not exist physically seems kind of bogus to me.
The way I see it is that you have a pool of girls that will be initially attracted to you so long as you don't come off as socially inexperienced relative to them. There's nothing you can really do to increase this pool besides improve your appearance, and even then, the type of women that are part of this pool exist within some sort of fixed range that cannot be changed beyond some bound. What PUA's try to sell as seduction is merely giving the right cues to women who were already somewhat attracted to you before you had any sort of interaction with them.
That is not seduction..
That would be because this is what seduction actually is...
