so, everyone interested, you are welcome to write me. i dont bite (when i do, its because of extreme affection. )
no strict need to be from around here - knowing nice people always is great because there are so few of them.
I'm 28, shy, but can be quite extraverted and talkative once I've found it comfortable with someone. I have a hard time relating to people, most of my interests are done in solitude: online gaming (word games like scrabble and boggle are my favorites), researching various things in psychology, philosophy, humanities, scientific break-throughs, or whatever else catches my eye. I like animals, have two cats, and don't mind fish or dogs. Yea, so, for the most part, I spend a lot of time indoors, but there are some outdoor activities that grab my interests as well.
Understand that I do have a son, but the father is entirely out of the picture. You would obviously have to be a guy that is alright with the idea of being a father and parenting a child that isn't biologically yours.
Marriage would be nice eventually, however, the main thing I would like out of the ideal relationship is something in the way of a long-term, stable, mutually-satisfying arrangement. I also think nurturing is nice, as is a guy that doesn't mind an affectionate, intimate woman. This probably goes without saying, but even if you hate the idea of marriage/weddings, I want the relationship to be monogamous.
Can't tell you how much I would love to be able to go to bed and cuddle with a man that loves me every night, and to hear him tell me that.
I'm currently single so i may as well post. Don't know if we hae any other members from my area here though.

Either male or female. Around my age.
My Appearence:
Boring.
Tall
Short hair.
I'll post a picture as soon as I can be bothered to take a decent one.
Interests: Computers, electronics. Not much else really.
Social habbits: I don;t have any friends. i just sit in front of the computer all day chatting to people from the other side of the world on IRC.

Hmm....I agree that posting on this thread takes a lot of courage...I've been here for two months now...and I would like to form a bond/friendship with somebody....but I'm kinda scared to put myself out there....also I'm not sure if people would actually contact somebody from this thread...but...
*takes a deep breath*
Well, here goes...
I'm 27 years old, girl, straight...5'3'' and 120lb...currently single...I live in New York city, but I will be moving out of the city this fall to go to grad school...
As you see my occupation is student, I graduated from college, got my master's then spent two years learning alternative medicine in New York and taking classes in psychology, religion and philosophy...(the great thing about New York is that you can take classes in every possible subject that you are interested in...) My major is in literature.
I have two cats and I am very much a cat person...I love cats!
I am also interested in Jungian analysis, somatic psychology, art therapy, drama therapy, and dance therapy...
I am interested in healing/supporting/affirming/empowering/nurturing people, including myself...
I like yoga, I like to walk, I like to swim, I like to dance....
I like to listen to spiritual/devotional/meditation music...(I love sacred chants)
I like to create art, (painting, sculpting, photographing) and I like to write poems, stories and plays...
I study modern dance and ethnic dance and have performed modern dance several times in New York.
I am a Christian, protestant, presbyterian...
I'm open minded about age...for a serious relationship I would be looking for someon around 25 to 35..
If you are looking for someone to casually interact with as on-line friends, I am totally openminded as long as we click...(please be honest though)
I think it would be nice if we can start out as pen-pals...either through pm or e-mails...it would be nice if you are interested in sharing seemingly trivial everyday things of your life through pm or e-mails...

Hi, I'm Chris, divorced, & reside in Cincinnati. I'm sort of an anomaly on this thread as I'm 39 years old & everybody else seems to be considerably younger. I'm five nine in height, have blue eyes and slightly graying black hair, and wear glasses. Interests include writing, genealogy, movies (especially those of the silent era), reading, collecting music (especially anything featuring the mellotron, an early keyboard sampler which used recorded tapes of orchestras, brass, flute, & choirs. A famous example is the flute intro to "Strawberry Fields Forever" by the Beatles) & British & Irish folk music/ folk rock. Also, I enjoy hiking, visiting museums, Laurel & Hardy, visiting caves, & anything dealing with Ireland. I am a true Romantic who has yet to meet their soulmate, a failed marriage & my currently residing with an ex fiancee are testaments to this fact. Shakespeare's 29th sonnet pretty describes the emotional state of a typically Romantic Aspergian who has finally realized that cherished dream of finding the perfect match:
When, in disgrace with Fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possessed,
Desiring this man's art and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
(Like to the lark, at break of day arising
From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my fate with kings.
My biggest dream is to revel in that moment when I first lay eyes on her, & cherish her heart & soul in my being forever. I would show my appreciation for her everyday by complementing her, offering encouragement in good times & bad, & let her know how beautiful & significant she is to me in my life. Of course, as with many others in this forum and elsewhere, I would most desire that that person be a fellow Aspie, or at least somebody who is significantly acquianted with it. I am in an Asperger's support group here in Cincinnati, but everyone in it is male & there is not much precedent for females attending even before I joined it. All that I know is that my life burns with an optimism & drive that I have not known in eons, & that my destiny and life's course will burn bright into the future. I would love the opportunity to at least talk with any Aspie females who reside within a one hundred mile radius of Cincinnati, although I'm not against talking to indivuals in more exotic locales either. The ties which tie me family wise to Cincinnat are withering, & if economic & career reasons could be shuttled aside, I would willingly depart Ohio for more welcoming & benovolent crimes. Anyway, anybody interested in knowing more about me, please either personally respond or make a post on the forum. Thanks. Chris
I enjoy reading these...so many people are a different age (mostly younger) than I thought. Bah, I feel too young for this.
Name: Heather
Age: 16 (but mature...I can't stand most people my age)
Orientation: Straight (maybe, possibly bisexual, but I'm not entirely sure)
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: Normal/average
Hair color: ...Well, it's supposed to be black, but it's fading now, so more of a really dark brown. I have blond highlights, which are apparantly immune to dying.
Eye color: Blue with green streaks. Grey when I'm really tired.
Skin: Very pale.
Religion: Catholic (of the Easter, Christmas, and occasional guilt trip variety, at least for actually attending church. I am tolerant of all religions, but I will not be lectured about how great one is. I don't expect anyone to convert to my religion, and no one should expect me to convert to theirs'.)
I don't drink, don't smoke, and don't care. If someone else wants to do either (or both) of the two, that's their choice. I don't lecture about that stuff. (I will say, however, that just because someone smokes, drinks, and does weed does not make them tough. They might be tough, but that's no indication.)
Likes: Music, writing, art, pyschology, and profiling. I'll go through periods when I can't get enough of one of those, and then I'll become completely apathetic. I play the piano and guitar. I also write (which is what my site is about) and draw to a limited degree.
Dislikes: Leet speak (I can't understand it, and I'll automatically ignore all posts written in it), boring people, intolerance, nagging, and things that I consider to be pointless (*cough*a certain class*cough*).
Positives: I try to be supportive (I think it's working), I try not to be too condescending and judgemental, and there are very few people on here that I don't like. I'm polite to a fault. I'm also fairly intelligent, and I can hold my own in most arguments. (Is that a good thing? I think so.) Being loyal means a lot to me. I keep many secrets (I'm putting this in both positive and negative, as it really depends on the situation for whether it's bad or good). I don't have a particular style, and I don't really care about such things.
Negatives: I'm moody and rather unstable in my emotions. It's not unusual for me to go from whee-happy to I-hate-everyone-and-everything in about two seconds. I keep many secrets, and I can be easily irritated. I'm also a perfectionist - the fact that I've used I so often in this post is driving me nuts. And finally, I'm self-destructive (obviously, since I'm posting this part last ).
Looking for: just someone to talk with. I don't mind whether said person is male or female, but I'm generally more critical of females (sorry, but it's true). I only remember to get on MSN or AIM if someone reminds me or schedules a time to talk (and periodic random flukes).

My name is Murt, I'm 23 years of age and a bisexual male(maybe omni/pansexual and somewhat genderqueer). I'm a textbook Pisces and INTP.
Location:
Central Ohio, USA(unfortunately)
Looks:
190.5 cm(6'3"ish)
68 Kg(150 Lbs.)- Lean build.
Long brown hair
Brown Eyes
Religion:
Omnitheist and recovering Catholic. As a confused adolescent, I considered entering the Franciscan Brotherhood. If I had to choose ONE religion it would be Buddhism.
Interests:
Music: most of it. I agree with Nas that Hip-Hop is dead...there's not much rap that I like. I can't stand Nashville/modern country...it has almost made me physically ill on a couple occasions. My preference is heavy/metal... current favs are: Opeth, Nevermore, Bloodbath, Naglfar and Necrophagist. In addition to most everything Swedish and select other Scandinavian bands. I also enjoy folk/bluegrass/Irish music on a regular basis. Favs being Chris Thile/Nickel Creek, Andrew Collins/Creaking Tree String Quartet, John Hartford(probably an Aspie),Tempest, Millish, Black 47, Ray Kelly era Prodigals, and Decemberists. It'd be safe to say that VNV Nation, Coheed and Cambria, Opeth, and Decemberists are my VERY favorite bands...respectively.
Books: Mostly Sci-Fi/fantasy. Stranger In a Strange Land. Heinlein, Gaiman, Asimov, Bradbury, Douglas Adams, Clive Barker. Recently turned on to William Gibson, Orson Scott Card and Terry Pratchett. I really loved The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.
Sweden.
Education and Career Goals: 9 years of Catholic schools(grades 4-12)...thankfully. A couple quarters at the local Community College. Summer of 2005 I attended the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, OH.
I've been doing live sound for over 7 years now and I'm the House Tech. at my family's pub. Most of my work has been with Irish/Celitc and bluegrass bands...notably Black 47, Prodigals, Tempest etc. I have also done some live recording.
With the exception of clarinet, I'm a self-taught musician. I mostly play guitar and mandolin family instruments, but I can play pretty much anything...with the exception of Scottish/highland pipes and Irish Harp(two instruments I have no desire to play).
I hope someday to go on the road...either as a soundguy or musician.
Hobbies:
I like to watch Rugby and hockey. I like the New Zealand All Blacks in Rugby and pretty much all the Canadian hockey teams.
I play roller hockey in a league. I recently acquired my first Hat Trick.
I like to take things apart to see how they work(I'm not so good at putting them back together)...many pens and a couple guitars and bicycles have died at my hand.
I kinda like birds. I wish I could keep a Budgie at my apartment, but I wouldn't get away with it...thin walls and floors.
I like to meander on Wikipedia...I guess learning is another hobby.
Oh hi, I noticed you were reading this post, so let me tell you about myself.
I'm male, so if you are also male you can stop reading and go here for additional help.
Ok, now if you're still reading you should at least be female. That's a good start. Now, consider where you live. I live in Gainesville, Florida, USA. If you're not within a short drive of that area you can go ahead and stop reading this post. I don't believe in long-distance romantic relationships because without physical contact it's no good.
Now, about me...
I'm 25 years old, just graduated from college (BA), I'm 5'10" 177 lbs. I use pounds, not kilograms. That's me in the avatar. I have additional pictures if you are interested (nothing X-rated). I am interested in music, cooking (and eating!), driving around, and cats. If you have a cat, that's a plus.
I am interested in girls/women who are 20 to 29 years old and live in my area. I'm NOT interested if you have kids. I don't have kids, just a cat named Mr. Burlington. I also have pics of him if you're interested.
I realize that there are very few members in my area, and that the male:female ratio is unfavorable for me here.... but I have to try!
