HR doesn't do concerts too much these days, what I saw was a "spoken word" gig like this:

Geeks, Nerds, and Dorks who think girls don't want you,

The dating scene is currently flooded with two types of men, "Mr. Let's Just Have Sex" and "Mr. Watch Me Watch Football". While these fellows are sometimes nice to look at, our conversations are vastly limited to topics such as "Was that good for you?" and "Do you need another beer?". We would much rather "ooo" and "ahhh" at the latest computer expo. We love to watch your science in action. Going on a historical adventure would be a real treat. Unfortunately, you are nowhere to be found. Have you ever wanted to be a hero? Here's a secret. It can happen outside of gaming! Be our knight in shining armor and save us from another date where our eyes glaze over! Geeks, Nerds, and Dorks of the world, leave your basements, shells, and other physical/metaphorical obstacles. Come find us!

Lol, great post... : )

I haven't been to one of those, either.

I went to a ballet once in San Francisco. I liked the ballet, but there were too many people in the audience. Intermission nearly brought me to a meltdown. All those people funneling into one hallway... ugh...

I found this OKC test quite useful in this regard - The Nerd? Dork? or Geek? test:

http://www.okcupid.com/tests/take?testi ... 0046738815

I'm a classic nerd myself - too non-tech oriented to be a geek, and not into sci-fi/comics enough to be a dork...

That test tells me I'm a Pure Nerd.

Gosh, Boo, how can we have babies with a score like that? You can do better....

The test focused too much on actor/movie/theme/author obsessions, those are not the type of obsessions I have.

and don't worry....mine is ....fairly big.

You have big technical manuals? That's hot.

Exactly ;)

lol I'm sure I'm dorkier than that test revealed. I could list at least one example, but this isn't the adult section. :-P

Adult dorkiness?

Like screaming out words in Klingon or Romulan during sex?

Quote:
Your result for The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test ...

Tri-Lamb Material
96 % Nerd, 13% Geek, 61% Dork

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd and Dork, earning you the coveted title of: Tri-Lamb Material.

The classic, "80's" nerd, you are what most people think of when they think "nerd," largely due to 80's movies like Revenge of the Nerds and TV shows like Head of the Class. You're exceptionally bright and smart, and partly because of that have never quite fit in with your peers or social groups. Perhaps you've realized, or will someday, that it is possible to retain all of the things that you like about being brilliant and still make peace with the social cliques around you. Or maybe you won't--it's really not necessary. As the brothers of Lambda Lambda Lambda discovered, you're fine just the way you are and can take pride in that. I mean, who wants to be like Ogre, right!?

Congratulations!
