That's what I was saying!

Ah. I see. I guess mine is the shortened version of that.

Ya know, for a lot of guys on here, I say they probably could, and have a chance to find one....but for you, I agree...you probably won't have a girlfriend.

You take what I said way too personally.

you are just being mean and obviously a girl wants a mean guy

So what if I'm a mean guy? I don't want to sound like a cynic but there are many mean guys in the world we live in. How am I so different from millions of other men and women?

Fact is we live in mean societies where the majority of men desire tall and beautiful-looking women.

Please don't take it personally but that's the truth.

Pretty much what Tom5 said. My standards appear to be too high.

It's not as if girls are any more exempt than guys are at judging people by how they look or other superficial things such as social status or wealth. It's hard to find anyone regardless of gender who isn't shallow. While I can't say I'd initially be attracted to someone who I would consider ugly, I'd like to think that I have deeper values than that, and often find that those are more often the reasons I decide to cut contact with others.

Nope. Never have and don't plan on getting into a relationship right now. I have to see what college brings next year.

I've been with my girlfriend for a year. We hang out with each other a lot since she moved to my neighborhood last month.

See, according to the people here you aren't supposed to have an attitude like that. You should be content to just be friends with the pretty girls, not feel jealousy towards their boyfriends, all the while you have to settle with having a relationship with some one you feel absolutely no physical attraction to just because they are a nice person.

That is basically what I was told anyway.

No one seems to stop and consider that "Good looking" is subjective. What You or I consider good looking may not actually win any beauty contests.. but to us.. they are perfect. Instead people seem to jump to the conclusion that when I say I want to be in a relationship with a intelligent, pretty young woman.. what I'm actually saying is I want a Supermodel-Rocket scientist... When all I'm really looking for is one who is properly proportioned (Weight to height) or in the close vicinity thereof, and shares an interest in reading/learning.. and preferably comes from my same socio-economic background (the #1 indicator of whether or not a relationship will be successful is a shared socio-economic background) so she doesn't come into the relationship with unrealistic ideas of what exactly life with me will be like.

I have a boyfriend and we have been together for almost ten months. We both have as and the similarites between us are uncanny he is like a boy version of me and I am absolutely crazy about him. :D

Yup, I have a boyfriend, and I actually found the liquid courage myself to go up and talk to him. We have been together four years! I love fairy tales and that's how I thought of the two us both before I even talked to him. It put me in this weird space where I just went ahead and crossed the boundary and struck up a conversation.
He's on the quiet side and hysterical at times. The first thing I liked about him was his frank and sincere way of speaking.

That is cool - I am glad you have someone who makes life easy on you! We all need someone who can understand where we're coming from, sympathize, or ask questions to help figure things out. What do you two do for fun?

There is actually a bio-psychological explanation for this. Being nice to someone actually activates the reward system in people's brains. People are programmed to seek psychological rewards.

This can explain why Communists and altruistics actually enjoy doing what they do, and that is, helping other people.

See, I realize that we, more than most, have trouble understanding it, but what I posted was sarcasm.

My point was, that based on the "advice" I was given by a number of the female board members.. being friends with a girl, is just as rewarding as being in a relationship with a girl, since hey, at least you still get to talk to a girl. Except the whole part about being her doormat.

I've had my boyfriend fro almost 2 years!! ! This is the 1st relationship either of us have been in. Both of us being kind of (but not too) socially awkward makes us a perfect couple. Plus we have almost the same exact interests. :)
