^ Food geeks would be the worst because I'm a very picky eater.

Why?

art/literature geeks are usually the types who require regular and consistent adulation (kind of like astrological Leos on steroids). I cannot really see a regular person, let alone an Aspie rising to that challenge easily.

the stereotype police can bite me :P

You're probably right. The second guy I had a date with was a writer/poet with a PhD in creative writing.
He was so eager when we were messaging and I was very cautious about reciprocating his feelings too soon.
I think I was very stand-offish on our date. He did not reply to my "I had a good time" email after the date.

Do you think he was not interested, because you didn't reciprocate? I don't know how to sound enthusiastic without coming off as irritating. I can be like a rubber ball in a closed room with extreme amount of energy.

I think he was disappointed that I was not responding the way he wanted me to. Something about him made me uncomfortable, not in a creepy or threatening way, but because somehow I sensed that I was not the type of person he was looking for.

Yeah, it's very hard to express the right amount of enthusiasm, isn't it. I'm bad at it too, especially in person.

When I meet a guy who does not engender such feelings in me, I will have met The One. :D
