I did

For some reason I was thinking about this thread this morning, and it occurred to me that the interpretation of someone's intent for desiring sexual attention (or not) is generally not based strictly on how they dress. There's a lot of body language and facial expression involved, too (UH-OH!).

What makes the girl in the first photo look provocative in that photo is not her clothing, it's how she's wearing it. The fact that she is exposing the tops of her stockings and even part of her a$$, together with the pouty "come-hither" look on her face is what leaves me with the impression that she is VERY interested in receiving sexual attention.

For example, if she were wearing that outfit walking down the street, eyes forward, not exaggeratedly swinging her hips, I would NOT think she was looking for sexual attention. Same as if she was sitting in a cafe reading a book without her unmentionables showing.

I thought kinda the same thing.
The picture says more about sexual objectification than anything else.
The question of whether she is asking for sexual advances made me think is a bottle of coke doing the same?

Yes, a bottle of coke is trying to inspire sexual feelings, except subliminally. Then, uncertain about how to classify the sensations, the viewer will attribute those nice feelings to the product. It works the other way around, too.

Yes, we all know that sex sells, I would have thought that bit would be bleedin obvious.

What we are having harder time acknowledging is that the society assumes men are completely ruled by their sexual desire and see women largely as objects that can satisfy that desire. I mean, it's not like you get a slew of "How to make her fall madly in love with you" articles in GQ and Sports Illustrated.

I think it is a sad phenomenon. It takes responsibility away from men for their behavior. Men have a choice. We are not driven crazy by the sight of female flesh and rendered incapable of controlling our actions. Of course, I don't know how many people subscribe to the belief that "she was asking for it". Those who do are deluded though.
