For the millionth time: Social skills can't be learned
Roleplaying helped me immensely when I was younger. It gave me a safe place to ask questions about how people react, why they react that way, and allowed me to pretend to be a character and learn reactions without the stakes being real. Over the years, my ability to create "convincing" characters improved, and that translated into greater (not perfect) success with real people.
It was very tiring, and required lots of hard work, but so is exercise.
Give roleplaying a try!
