I’ve seen quite a few people here call themselves ugly….then post their picture. They were at least okay-looking, all of them.

how can I go from being good looking 5 years ago to be just okay looking Now?

Post a picture of yourself.
If you are hideous, I promise we won't turn to stone.

I am to insecure about my looks to post a pic of myself in all honesty

I wouldn't do it either.

I am 5ft7-5ft8 and weigh 170 lbs.

do you think getting down to say 154 lbs will help me look better?

My mother also broke her nose quite a few times.

That didn’t prevent her from attracting men.

Maybe getting off the sauce might help your looks.

Getting down to 154? Probably not.

I think your weight is ok for your height.
I doubt that it would harm your chances of finding someone.
You may gain greater self-confidence if you are the weight *you* are happy with.
Realistic/natural self-confidence is an attractive feature.

We have had this conversation before, I believe.

if you like the sauce and you drink too much of it, it will make you fatter. sauce is a fattening carb just like any other refined carb. drop those carbs and your weight will drop, not that you actually are that big.

Women like me better at 5 foot 5, 180 lbs, than at 140 lbs. I’m 165 now. The picture shows me at 180.

yup. :hic: drink less beer if you do drink it. avoid things like gravies, chips/craackers, flour-based sauces, pastries, white rice, white potatoes, wheat/whole wheat bread or any other kind of bread for that matter, anything with any kind of sugar in it. and alcohol. each more veggies [but NOT potatoes!] in their place. you can do it!

You get a beer belly from beer—even if you don’t gain weight.

every drinker i've seen eventually gains weight even on their face. refined carbs will do that esp. if you displace micronutrients [from fresh veggies] in your diet. you can cut back.

I do a lot of waking during the week

not sure if that's enough to burn calories from beer though? During lockdown a year ago when I was drinking less beer I go down to 159 pounds at my lowest

It has nothing to do with "calories from beer."

It has to do with muscle wasting caused by drinking and not exercising. The rest of your body might be bone thin---but people who drink get beer bellies.
