The better looking you are, the more you can compensate with social or personality flaws. Being hot is definitely a HUGE advantage in the dating market.

Average or below average looking guys need to find a way to compensate for their shortcomings. For some, that is having a very outgoing and charismatic personality. Other men go the betabux route and attract women through their status and wealth. Finally, other men simply lower their standards and go after plain Janes instead of chasing the Stacys who are likely to reject them.

Sure, looks count; but then what?

If all someone has is looks, they may as well be one of those plastic "love-bots" -- no intelligence, no personality, nothing.

Looks attract, and everything else keeps.

I dunno. While I like to think that with every sinew of my body, I seen some absolute thick knuckleheads maintain relationships with good looking women. This hit home pretty hard when an acid thrower was jailed for years here with a low IQ who happened to look attractive. Probably the dullest and most unpleasant of person.

There are people, both male and female who overlook literally anything for looks alone.

Yes, but the definition of "better looking" isn't the same for everyone.
I'd swipe straight past all the hardbodies (no offence guys - personal preference), and the ones who look like models.

I'd look for someone who appears humble and sincere.
That's my definition of "better looking", whether it involves being a big guy with a tummy or not.

Nothing - because they weren't important in the first place.
They're just a way to notice people.

There are a lot of people in the world. You’ll see any number of things, I’d imagine.

Try not to judge.
Maybe they shared a mutual interest in 17th century French literature or something.

Looks don't last forever, either.

I think it's sad that really-good-looking people are judged as if that's all they have to offer.
If I were dating a gorgeous hunk people would think that was the only reason I liked him.
It would become a reflection on my values too.

Yeah, it’s just such an oversimplification.

People are more complex than that. Well, most of the time.
