the GM of my old Guild Wars guild was female

And I uesd to get my a*** handed to me over and over again by this female player on dawn of war

My main wow char

I uesd to be on bloodhoof in the well known hardcore raid guild (in the top 100) Tainted Souls..... but we had to many tanks so I couldnt raid :(

Yeah but it doesn't hurt to know more people online does it?

These people are normal, I can assure you.

Lies, damn lies... :)

Surely it depends on your definition of 'gamer'

My partner will play Buzz with the kids from time to time and about once a year have a relapse and play a game of Doom2.

Does that make a 'gamer'? If so you easily have your 42%

imo "gamer" is a way of life, not just playing the odd game.

There are people who like the odd games, such as that simms crap and tetris or whatever, and there are people who like proper games, (mmorpgs or whatever, and consoles and proper computer games) and then there are gamers.

Gamers live and breathe games. My room, for example, has gaming merchandise all over it, posers, handmade stuff from games etc I wear gaming t-shirts, and I draw gaming artwork.

You obviously never met a serious Tetris player... Tetris is the best game ever created, and I've spent more time on Tetris over the years than any other game...

I do spend all my free time in other games though... mostly obscure RTS's and 4X games...

I just used it as an example. I meant silly girls that play tetris type games on their phones when they are bored.

Video games are my life when I'm not online or working or sleeping.

I hate The Sims. My daughter showed me about 20 different ways to kill them, and that was pretty cool, but it got old fast.

Oddly enough, I dislike first-person shooters. I like RPGs.

Wizardry, anyone?

I'm with you on the general dislike of FPS's (the few that I have are the Star Trek and Star Wars themed FPS's), but the only RPG's I really play are the Elder Scrolls series. Other than that, as I states above, I'm a strategery fan...

I know two girl-gamers in real life... one is a verrrry casual gamer, but she still would class herself as a gamer I think, she plays her brothers' FPS games, like SWAT 4 and Fear... the OTHER gamer girl I know will only play turn based RPG's, lol, and she has a really awful computer, and no consoles, so she can't play anything made after about 2002 xD She plays Neverwinter Nights at about three frames per second...

But as for what I think about girl gamers, I really don't find it appealing at all... I spend so much time with games, and having a girl that wouldn't know the first thing about games would be such a good thing... I mean, games, to me, have always been somewhat of an escape from reality, and having a girl that's as into games as I am... well, that would defeat the purpose of having a girlfriend, as I'd be doing just the usual things... I'd want to get out and do some real things with her.

Don't get me wrong though, I would prefer a gamer girl that can get out and do normal people things with me, but I still want one who can game, as there is the common interest that I can work with...

I'm pretty sure this thread has pretty solidly proved that wrong.
