Anyone have tips for meeting/talking to girls at parties? Advise on how to determine if it is appropriate to just go up to someone and start dancing with them would also be helpful.

There is no easy answer. You'll have to go out there, try and try again, and fail a few times until you figure it out.

It does depend on the situation. In some situations (very loud music where you can't talk easily) you could just go up and dance but if she gives indications that she doesn't want you to dance with her don't get offended, just back off, dance somewhere else and/or give space.

It may sound silly to tell you this but be sure to be smelling nice, though also make sure that the scent (deodrant/colone) is not overpowering.

I'm a woman and not a typical one so my advise is very general, just stuff that may help a tiny bit. As Dilbert said 'You'll have to go out there, try and try again, and fail a few times until you figure it out.' Women are complex and sometimes indirect and each one is different.

I totaly agree with this. Just act confident and the girls will think you are great

My advice is to, basically, talk to a girl more or less the same way you would talk to a new guy you just met. Say hello I'm so and so, how do you know this guy, whacha do for a living, whatever you would say normally to a man you just met, say it to a woman too. Cause when you're a girl at a party, you get tired of every guy either trying to pick you up or stammering and sweating cause they're worried about if you like them or not. Normal conversation is all too rare.
