I don't know where to post this, but I've just opened a new YouTube channel and uploaded my first video to it. I've uploaded a vid to YouTube in an attempt to find a girlfriend. Whether or not it will work remains to be seen. I don't know how many people use it for finding a partner, it could be more affective than dating sites, who knows.

Anyhow, here it is.....

Hmmm. Not sure this is the best idea, but good on you for having the courage to put yourself forward and try something new.

A few things - although your honesty is good, it's also important to sell yourself to a potential partner. Unless having AS is the central fact of your life, and AS is your strongest personality trait (if this is the case, then my apologies), starting and finishing the video with discussion of your AS is not a good idea. It's a basic psychological thing; studies have shown that the very beginning and very end of a speech are the parts people are most likely to remember. This being the case, potential partners will come away from the video thinking; this guy has AS, and not much else - not so much about the more important stuff, like your interests, and personality, and that sort of thing. Although mentioning AS is fine, I wouldn't place too much emphasis on it - as many people would not know much about it, and could make untrue assumptions about you because of it.

Like I said, I think the idea has potential, but I would review very very carefully every word you say. Remember that once something is up on youtube, it's there for the entire world to see.

Alright, I'll try and do another one. I'll take this one down.

This finding a girlfriend thing is really getting me down, I'm not sure if I'm even capable.

good luck/fortune in finding who you wish.

I was married once, then she passed away
and I have never loved again since.

It can, it's very hard. I think the best way to find a girlfriend though is not to go to clubs, or even online, but try meeting and befriending girls who do the things you do (a.k.a. work where you work, live next door, that kind of thing). At worst, you've at least made a friend with someone you can be around in person.

I think that having girl friends can alleviate the loneliness a little, and also helps you to practice socializing with girls - thus giving you a better chance of attracting a girlfriend.

If you're already in that position, if you're lucky to have a close trusted NT girl friend, then maybe ask her for advice. I find some of the best social improvements I've ever made in myself have been from taking advice from close NT friends.
