I got a private message from a gay guy saying that I'm really cute and giving me several ways to contact him. I didn't sign up for this sh*t. That's what craigslist is for.

I had something similar happen to me. Remember some people here don't understand boundaries. Just ignore it or say no I'm not interested. You meet all sorts of people when you open yourself up to a forum. I think it is only to be expected.

It's called a spambot, those links would be phishing or something.

Contact a moderator with the information, therange - complaining in the forums does no good, and does not communicate that there is a problem unless one of us stumbles over the thread.

I still need their information to make sure it doesn't happen to others; please send it to me in a PM.

Is flirting against the rules here? Or is the PM that was wrong? I'd like to know before I make the same mistake.

If he won't leave you alone tell the mod
and tell the bother guy to go eat a booger.

Flirting is not against the rules; solicitation is frowned upon, as is harassment. If one receives spam, the best thing to do is contact a moderator. If it is an individual, the first thing that needs to happen is the person receiving the message needs to express clearly that they do not wish to be contacted further, at which point if there are further instances the moderation team may be able to handle it as harassment.

Flirting might not be against the rules but it probably makes people feel uncomfortable.

^Depends on if they're looking, or not. I don't see anything wrong with flirting, as long as the 'flirter', know's enough to recognize when it isn't appreciated. As for the onlookers...tough crap. Flirting is a part of life, deal with it. :P
