What is the likelihood that someone on the spectrum will meet a member of the opposite sex and get married? Any success stories?

It is mainly going to depend on your location, level of functioning on the spectrum, and overall social environment.

Location? As in the environment, or like a certain city or state?

By environment, I meant the types of people you see on a regular basis. Some of it might depend on location, because some people are more conservative/liberal in certain areas, and there's personality. For example, in the Southern U.S., people are usually rather conservative, and very polite and welcoming. In other parts of the country, people may be more rude or more polite.

i believe that falls into the "dumb luck" category and simply refers to being within reasonable distance of anyone compatible  .

Also just in general could be talking about how some locations are more population-dense than others and the greater the population, the greater the chance of finding a potential match :) .

There's also mutual respect, as well. Couples who respect each other, stay together longer.

Good point. The question is, what is the best way to find someone that respects you?

I would think by simply being yourself, and waiting to find someone compatible... Like Sean says, it can simply be a matter of luck. But when people put on airs, or attempt to have more in common with a person initially (in hopes it will make them like/respect them), they will just be let down later when they feel comfortable enough to let their true colours show.

Also, by being a respectable/respectful person yourself. ;) That standard golden rule, I suppose :)

Getting married isn't the hard part: http://calculatorslive.com/Chances-Of-G ... lator.aspx

The problem is staying married and ideally, having a happy marriage. Most marriages end in divorce and marriages which hit the magical "7 year mark" are becoming more and more rare without mitigating factors.

As they say in the real estate game, location location location.
