Anyone else notice that people seem to fall for you much more often online than in person? Maybe it's because it feels safer to be honest about your feelings with a person online, or maybe I'm a lot better at flirting online than in person, but it's getting ridiculous! I'm not trying to act all cool or anything but there are 5 girls right now who have confessed to liking me and I've never even met them.

I was wondering who else gets this, and how they feel about it.

I have opposite problem. I can't seem to make an online friend but I can in real world.

... Uh huh....

But yeah, online charisma is a skill unto itself, and certainly a lot more simple than RL charisma.
...As a matter of fact, that's an astounding understatement. There are so many less variables in online interaction, they hardly compare.

I had a few crushes online when I was a teen.

Since then, I do not have online crushes, and rarely talk to people online who I have not met in person unless they are long time net friends. Thats not a relationship. If people enjoy it, good on them and its their own lives, but when you'e had the real thing they don't even compare.

Yup, I have your problem too. I seem to be irresistible to girls online, but in person they rarely want anything to do with me beyond the "friend zone", and it's not like the online girls change their minds when they see my picture or anything (which I let em see pretty early on) so it's not my appearance. I just find my ability to communicate in text is so much more fluid, while in person I'm terrible. I just wish I could meet a girl online that just happens to live within driving distance, getting tired of them always being across the country. >_< Actually tired of them falling for me at all at this point.

Ah, I never had anyone fall for me online. Generally, it's the other way around for me. Course I don't really care at all.

Yeah, it could just be that I'm much better at communicating without the body language and everything to deal with. I never make eye contact so that could be one reason why up close, girls don't feel that way.

Only online have people fallen for me. I would have to say I appreciated that, and appreciated having the relationship (at least it was positive interaction with a female I didn't otherwise have). While they lasted anyway, the flip side to online relationships is they are so temporary, and end when the person has a chance of a real life relationship (if not otherwise). Because they know, as everyone knows, online relationships cannot compare to real life ones.

And, my chances of relationships with a person online (and this might also be true of real life, I don't know?) were always inversely proportional to that person's local population density. And inversely proportional to how LIBERAL and HEALTHY that person was. If they were liberal and healthy, forget it.

Oh yes! I have had this male all the way from overseas add me on facebook and msn a few months ago! He actually admitted he was attracted to me and wants to have some "fun" on line! I sometimes show myself on webcam to him and he to me. He lives all the way in Pakistan. I like to think of it as casual on line friendship but one person (him) attracted and reguarly flirting and making jokes. No one knows about him, however. He describes me as "sexy, attractive, charming and astonishing"

A few years ago it happened all the time. And a couple of times I got in trouble for because I met these girls. I've met quite a few unstable ones from the internet but unfortunately I usually don't realize it until I catch them doing a line of cocaine in the bathroom.
Today I try to avoid meeting new girls online. If I met them in person I will chat with them online but I have had too many bad experiences to want to get involved with an online stranger again.

You could do better than 5. For about 2 months I met a different girl from the internet every week. 8)

Oh, man. I wouldn't be meeting these girls - They're randoms from all over the place and they're not particularly sane.

One actually asked me to marry her *facepalm*

I haven't had this problem. Maybe you just have a very interesting mind.

You have 5 cyberbullies on your tail. Just tell them that they are pathetic, break all contact with them and praise your solitude.

I've had one online "relationship" that lasted for almost a year, playing WoW actually. In the end, it ended as fast as it began because she was being harassed and whatnot by other players, and likely getting into a situation similar to why she stopped playing FFXI. I wanted to get a face to face, but i probably overstepped myself without knowing it. To this day, its dawned on me that I dont entirely know what i would want or expect out of a relationship.

I've had an Internet crush, at one time. It didn't last very long.
