My As-ish boyfriend has taken to enjoying talking in something sorta like a cross between Clingon and Sims and Nonsense language...where the emotions are expressed but the vocalizations are just basically made-up gibberish...it is fun...Verbal language stresses him out a lot of the time...and he is not a non-verbal communicator...so we just talk jibberish to each other...it is cute...

My sis and I did this growing up, it was pretty much a twin language, even though she's three years younger than me.

It started out where we had developed our own dialect that we used with each other..,and it includes an accent that we use only with each other, but others have sort of adopted it when talking to us.. and now it seems to have evolved to the point where we don't use actual words part of the time..or he doesn't and I have followed suit....and I exaggerate when I say he does not use nonverbal communication..he does not use what I assume is "conventional" nonverbal communication..the same sort of stuff that I never get either....he includes broad sweeping and maybe sort of nonsensical gestures with his gibberish "emotings"..it seems to involve mostly waving his arms around and fist shaking......and I do the same thing,,,but there is nothing that is systemized..it is all impressionistic..

We still do lots of regular talking...but this is a habit he has adopted more and more..and verbal language genuinely does stress him out even though he can talk just fine...the effort of bothering with words tends to have an effect on his stress level......and I have problems with it too...as I often can shut down when people talk to me for any length of time....which is part of the reason why we developed our own dialect in the first place..

i wonder if any other spectrumy relationships include these sorts of ways of interacting...

My mother and I will forget words mid-sentence. I'll just give up and say I forgot what I was going to say, but she will make up a random word that doesn't even exist.

Yes me and my guy have our own little language verbally and non-verbal gestures. More playful than rude.
