I have an Aspergers son who lives a very insular life, and his need to find like-minded people has inspired me to launch a dating/friendship site especially for adults with Aspergers Syndrome or any Autistic Spectrum disorder. You can find this at www.autisticdating.net. I also decided to include a unique verification process into this project - something I have introduced in order to avoid unscrupulous people from joining from the site.

It's not a free site (but see below), because I want to make a full time job out of trying to ensure that we don't end up with members in fragmented patches around the world; or that we don't end up with a imbalance of male and female members. I also want to give my undivided attention to ensuring that those people without genuine intentions are kept away. Giving it my full time attention means I can target areas where there is an imbalance to be addressed.

In order to help me start achieving those objectives, and to get this project off the ground, here is your chance to join for free. The first 20 males and the first 20 females to register, and to confirm via email at [email protected], will get a bronze membership free of charge. You must be over eighteen and your profile must be a serious one, preferably with a photograph please.

We can make this site what you want it to be, but we have to begin somewhere, so why not be one of the pioneers and register today. Even if you don't get in the first 40, there is still a free trial for everybody. There's nothing to lose, but everything to gain, so I hope to see you on-site soon.

Hi Alex. Yes, I noticed that too. I had mine built, and discovered Aspie Affection afterwards. Then I realised that the developer had used some sort of module based software to build my site. I love your colour scheme, it's really eye catching.

I would never pay for a global site specific for autistic dating for two reasons :
--) I'm more interested in women with ADHD and BPD because in my experience these are easiest to connect with. Limiting myself to autistic women seems a missed opportunity. It would be more interesting to me if you allow multiple diagnoses.
--) I live in Belgium and the chance of finding a match in my own country is very small on a global dating site. Making the site paid only reduces those chances.

If the site were not paid, I might give it a try though.

Seanmw - Please register on the site if you like the idea. The more the merrier!

SamwiseGamgee - I don't know what caused that problem. Please email the details to [email protected], and I'll get you signed up.

Salonfilosoof - If you send me your email address, I'll wait until the database grows a bit, and still give you the free membership if I get people from Belgium registering.

I've got six registrations to process, so still plenty of freebies to go.

Well, thanks for the sentiment, but honestly i already have a girlfriend :) .

We met through a random add on Myspace & by some stroke of luck (or possibly divine intervention considering the odds of it all), she just happened to have Aspergers syndrome too. We've been dating about 6 months now long-distance.

The site really is a good idea though. Wishing you good luck in that venture.

I'm in the same boat as Seanmw. I think you have a brilliant idea though, and I wish you the best!

I signed up as BelovedMarie and was wondering if it was still possible to get that first come first serve account?
