I keep seeing threads on this site about the actual effectiveness of a relationship between two aspies. This thread is, instead, devoted to aspies who are just plain attracted to other aspies, like myself. I find myself attracted to aspie girls because they always seem to have more interesting things to say than NTs. I especially like the cute ones.

For a while now, I've suspected that the YouTube user misshannahminx is an aspie. She really makes me smile because she's so wierd and cute.

Also, some people seem to think that Emily Dickinson was an aspie. I've read some of her poems and they make me feel happy.

"I'm Nobody! Who are you? Are you — Nobody — Too? Then there's a pair of us! Don't tell! they'd advertise — you know!
How dreary — to be — Somebody! How public — like a Frog — To tell one's name — the livelong June — To an admiring Bog!"
Emily Dickinson

Please don't get too into the actual effectiveness of relationships with other aspies in this thread. This site has enough threads like that.

I find myself more attracted to aspies. I used to say I have an aspie fetish until an NT here used the term aspiesexual and said she was that. I think it was a joke but I liked the word better so I adopted it.

People who think this are just being delusional.

I have no idea. It is great to get with someone whom I can relate to on some levels. Sometimes feel like I get along better with people who exhibit some "eccentric" personality traits.

I find most people attractive afterIi know em a while but I am more attracted to people who are different & outside the norm of society. I'm attracted to weird things sometimes so I am more attracted to Aspies/Autistics. I don't know much about NT personality thou. I'll probably start a post about that latter on at some point

I think I've always been interested in non-NT's...not just the spectrum disorders. ADD, ADHD, whatever :) I don't mean to say that I only like non-NT's, or that I like every one who falls into that category; I definitely do not. It is just a trend I noticed

I'll notice a woman if she behaves in a way I associate with the autistic spectrum, but I'll also notice a woman if she's cute.

I'm not usually attracted to other aspies, but it can happen, it all depends on the person.

I'm not experienced enough in the field of relationships, but it makes sense... Aspie partners are likely to be much more understanding towards autism-related issues one might have.

Since diagnosis I've been on this kick of "it would be cool to date another Aspie" but I'm definitely not restricted to one or the other. One of the guys I've dated in the past was very likely AS, yet we were totally different. The other guys I've dated weren't exactly "normal" I'd say, but would be classified as neurotypical.

Not being on the spectrum doesn't necessarily make someone NT.

That said, I don't know who I am truly attracted to.

I seem to be more attracted to other Aspies. IDK though, I seem to get along better with Aspies than NTs.

I second this. I've never dated an NT before, but I'm not sure I've dated a girl with autism either.

Though there is one girl who suspects she might be.

I would say no preference really. I find some aspies attractive, I find some NTs attractive. It's not really a trait go looking for in someone.
