So the other day, after dropping someone off at the airport, I was eating breakfast at a nearby restraunt and this pretty lady came up to me and said she liked my hair and wanted to cut it because she was a hair dresser. I felt there was something more then a haircut involved because of how close she was standing to me. It was making me unconfortable. She wanted to exchange numbers but, outside the restraunt. Which I thought was strange. So when I left I just walked strait to my car and drove away. I guess I'll never know if I missed out on a good haircut or something else.

She was probably interested in you but as it seems, you weren't interested in her.

Just let her know or say you have things to see or a girl friend to do.

Nah I'm kidding, don't take it too hard, I've done myself. But it does seem like she was interested in you. :D

It's not strange. It's plausible deniability on several levels. If plausible deniability is used, then if you reject someone using it, the other person is still left an "out" which enables her to deny that she was interested in you for "that". You could have asked for her number, or not. If you showed up for a haircut, it really could just be a haircut, or that's what she would say if it had gone no further than that.

I've also had situations where someone might have been interested, but I became overloaded and got away before anything could come of it. Maybe it's an alexithymia thing, sort of like how Stan pukes when he sees Wendy in South Park.

I was interested interested in her. She was pretty. However there was something wrong about the whole situation. Mental alarm bells where going off. Either that or, I'm completely hopeless.

I suppose you'll never find out unless you call her. Maybe the hair thing was her own nervous way of breaking the ice, we women get awkward too you know.

If she actually wanted to cut your hair, she would have given you a business card or told you the name of the salon where she worked and encouraged you to come by.

For a pickup, it's considerably more forward than most women use. Most women would attempt a longer conversation (much longer) to give themselves time to "read" you and judge if you were "safe" before handing out their number.

My guess? If you actually got and called the number, I'm betting you'd find out it's an escort service.

This is exactly what I was thinking because she was standing outside with another lady rumaging through a car before I walked into the restraunt. She probably saw my car and, thought I was an easy mark. I was near the airport wich is a place notorious for street walkers.

On the other hand she did tell me something about how to wash my hair but, I didn't hear it because I was having major sensory issues on account of her getting in my face.

OP, I agree with @Janissy, and also want to tell you your "alarm bell" instincts were right: why would she want you to exchange numbers "outside" the restaurant? Two reasons I can think of is because she may have been warned by the restaurant owner to conduct her "business" outside of his establishment. The second is because she wanted to get you to another, more private location - either to conduct "business" on the spot, and/or to rob you (or do something worse). It might have been easier for her armed male accomplice to do that in a private location?

I know that may seem a "worst case scenario" interpretation, but if you were a woman and a man had behaved identically to the way this woman behaved, I would have no doubt that he was up to no good. Your instincts that she was trouble were right on - good for you.

Thanks, I beat myself up over it for a couple days but, in the end I probably made the safest decision. When I purchased my car someone told me it was a "chick" magnet. I hope it doesn't always bring the wrong types of "chicks".
