An argument in semantics - Alpha Male or Leader.
Whenever you seek out help on how to successfully coquette with women, you're bound to come across these terms: Nice guy, bad boy, alpha male.
Arguing semantics in many cases is futile, because a single word with multiple meanings cannot usually counteract the larger point of a well thought-out argument. However in some situations, such as when a single term or set of terms are the cornerstones of an entire argument or school of thought (in this case, the seduction community), semantics become crucial.
In another thread that's stickied on this board, I cover my thoughts on the terms "nice guy" and "bad boy".
Nice guy: Someone who excessively compliments, buys gifts, helps out a lot, and smiles all the time? A "door mat", a self-depricator, or a highly moral and spiritual person? All of the above?
Bad boy: Someone who steals cars, rides motorcycles, and wears leather jackets? Someone who shoplifts? Someone who plays tricks on other people for their own amusement? An insensitive person? All of the above?
And what lines are to be drawn between these two vaguely defined sides? How many compliments can a bad boy give before he becomes a nice guy? How many cocky smirks does a nice guy give before he becomes a bad boy?
I don't know about you, but I'm experiencing the onset of a headache in dealing with all of these abstractions. As if these matters needed to be even more convoluted than they already are.
My working theory is that successful courting has nothing to do with any of this.
I herby assert that "Alpha Male" be put on the list of "Seduction Terms That Have Become Useless", and in its place, I insert the concise and accurate term that's relevant to humanity in this modern age: Leader.
If only I was the "Alpha Male" of the collective seduction community, and then I could make it official.

Logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
"Bad Boy"
1. A man envisioned by men with nice guy syndrome, who they perceive to be dishonest, thoughtless, disrespectful towards woman and possibly violent, and who they also perceive women to be attracted to due to a false conviction that women like to be treated poorly. Frequently this man is
a) Actually a normal nice guy who does not suffer from nice guy syndrome but is deemed as a bad buy because he does not meet the misconstrued definition of "nice" harbored by those with Nice Guy Syndrome.
And on occasion\
b)A man who actually is of the undesirable nature envisioned by those with Nice Guy Syndrome.
"Nice guy"
1. A guy who is reasonably nice.
2. A term used by men with nice guy syndrome to refer to themselves.
"Nice Guy Syndrome"
A personality disorder marked by self victimization, passive aggressiveness, and feelings of self entitlement, flanked by the inability to properly communicate one's own boundaries due to fears of rejection or an inability to determine those boundaries, aversion to taking on roles of responsibility, and a tendency to cling to misconceptions concerning those of the opposite gender. Sufferers of this syndrome often often make broad generalizations in an attempt to justify self defeatism and tend to secretly harbor hatred for those of the opposite gender. Sufferers are also at risk of developing Nice Guy Syndrome Rebound Disorder.
"Nice Guy Syndrome Rebound Disorder"
A disorder which manifests when the psych of those with Nice Guy Syndrome can no longer contain the self internalization of negative emotions, forcing the sufferer to acknowledge, to some extent, the ineffectiveness of their methods in obtaining that which they seek to obtain, and try to correct for these shortcomings themselves, and ultimately overshooting and becoming an @$$hole.
