I see a lot of men typically date a girl at least a few years younger than they are, and I see a lot of guys who refuse to date women who are even as old as they are, much less anyone older.

So I was wondering how the guys on here feel about dating ranges. Would you date a woman/girl much younger or older than you and by how many years?

I am 20, and I would go as high as, and including, 30 years of age. Any older and I think it becomes too difficult to find many things in common.

a span of 1 - 2 years around my ages is about as far away from it as Id prefer. Honestly Id prefer someone the same age as me.

I'm going to answer for my husband (we met on www.match.com).

His profile indicated that he wanted a women up to four years older than he. He was 37 at the time, he was interested in women as young as 30 and as old as 41. He advised me that he chose the age 41 as he wanted to have children and, realistically, women who are older than this might have difficulty having a child, have had their children already or not be interested in having children. If he was not interested in having his own children, he advised that he would have considered a woman as old as 50 for a potential partner. He felt that a woman 13 years his senior is still in his peer group and would not be old enough to be his own mother (well, I guess she "could" have been old enough to be his mother - but not likely).

BTW - he chose the younger range as young as thirty as he wanted someone who was in his peer group. Someone who had some life experience and was developmentally the same age as he.

When we met, I was 31 and he was 37.

As an aspie, I pretty much take anything I can get. Ideally, I would want a girl under 30. I am 47. In actuality, they tend to be older than me by up to about 5 years.

Ideally, anywhere from 2 years younger to 2 years older.

Preferably within 3-4 years older or younger. Flexible either way, but more so on the younger end.

At 24 I considder 18-35 but I'm critical of the fringes so 20-28 is more the target.

Must be legal and that's it. The rest I'll figure out from whether I find her cute and whether we connect.

I'd say between +/- 3-5 years is ideal for me.

I wish more girls would accept younger guys; we die quicker on a statistical basis than women so it makes more sense.

i have always liked women who are much older
than me.

The mother of my little boy is 11 years older
than me.

Now I am 44, I feel drawn to women my own age
for the 1st time.

I can only go 7 years younger and still have them be legal, and I seem to like girls about 5 years younger and much older women (i.e. "cougars") more than women my age.

Honestly, I guess it all depends on how old they act. I'm 21 and I'd have to say 18-25. My currently girlfriend is the ONLY exception to the rule as when we met she was 16, but we had only dated for a month and she turned 17.
