Well, Im gonna try to make it short and to the point so here it goes. I feel that I could "never" share a bed with anyone because of my habit of thrashing around with enough force to leave fist-sized and heel-sized holes in walls. Im basically afraid that this tendency will cause a great deal of harm and be a turn-off to a potential "mate". Yes, ive had quite a few incidents with people and objects while sleeping. to name a few...

1)I was 11 at the time and I was at a sleep-over. Granted I ended up kicking a kid in the ribs hard enough to break 3 of them.
2) Around the same time I also broke my fathers arm with a kick as he walked into my room to wake me up for school.
3)age 14, at my old house, my room was a lower floor add-on. I ended up kicking though the wall and cracked a support beam to hell.
4)17, ended up sleepwalking and just started destroying random things.
5) Most recently, the other day I ended up cracking my bed-frame in half.

Somehow I am starting to thinks my body channels chuck norris when I sleep. Therapists have no idea what to do either, so I dunno.

I kind of have the same worries...

Not about violently hitting anything or anyone, but that I am very restless sleeper and I take a very long time to fall asleep, moving back and forth, adjusting myself constantly...
I think I would be a huge annoyance to sleep with.

But, you did mention sleepwalking... and now it sounds more like a sleep disorder sort of thing. (Your brain is not turning off it's motor functions when you sleep...) Have you tried consulting a sleep therapist?

You should have a sleep study. There are a few things that might cause this, among them...

Nocturnal epilepsy.
Restless Leg Syndrome
Periodic Limb Movement Disorder

I'd say explaining this to a partner would be a good idea, there's nothing wrong with sleeping in different beds. Although, I think finding out what causes this would be a very good idea. Chronos is right, a sleep study is the best way to find out what's happening.

Ditto the sleep study, because there could be something potentially dangerous underlying it, but also, I have a tendency to kick in my sleep and so I just take a muscle relaxer before bed. My husband reports no problems when I do that.

That sounds pretty cool.
I second the person who suggested a sleep study though.

if you can't find a cure for it., then might just have to have 3 beds in the bedroom if you eventually get together with anyone.
One big enough for sexy time, & 2 smaller ones just for when you guys sleep spaced somewhat apart so you're not thrashing them while you sleep.

or maybe even have a bed custom made with a steel-reinforced dividing wall you can put into place when you sleep :)

or maybe one with straps built in that she can secure you with before sleeping  .

Yeah, that sucks - hope you are able to at least find some way to work that out.

I'm with Zara though, I do worry about similar things plus my insomnia - I tend to get in and out of bed if I can't sleep, need about three or four hits of the snooze button to wake up (don't *NEED* but if I don't want to have an instant screaming migraine headache its the better way to go).

Well granted things do not get kicked and punched if I end up sleeping straight through the night. I really think part of it is mostly reflexive actions from dreaming. as for that sleepwalking incident, that has happened only once. But yeah, I do take a very long time to sleep and it tends to be turbulent due to the train passing through town every 2-3 hours. especially sucks now with my bronchitis. I am either up in a coughing fit, up from severe night sweats, or up every 4 hours due to me having to take my bronchitis meds.and then it usually takes me an hour and a half to fall back asleep, then the train runs through :/

But yeah, I actually just though of 2 queen size beds side by side might do the trick. IF there is room for it.

I do know why my kicks tend to be really strong though. For some reason, I can build muscle on my lower body EXTREMELY EASILY. However I have large amounts of trouble trying to even tone and build muscle on my upper body. I know it isnt how I exercise, The physical trainer at the gym was trying to help me figure it out. Oh well, Im almost able to push 1200 lbs on the leg press and able to keep doing it at a nice pace for 20 reps. still dont truly know my maximum, since thats the max on the machine as this gym.

But yeah gonna go get a sleep study done once this bronchitis is healed up.

I did not have that strong kicks in my sleep. But I was pretty restless, I used to kick the wall or end up with my feet at the headboard, totally twisted up in my sheets (or worse, the rope of my sleepingbag while camping, almost hung myself one time)

One thing helped a lot, and that was buying a better mattress. It was *** expensive, but it was worth it. I move a lot less. Also turning it every few weeks helps.

But in your case, professional help would be preferable.
