I go to the local fitness center and everytime i go to the food area for lunch i'd say hello to this girl working there , well today she asked me about what i was doing... Got any plans this weekend e.t.c. Now i've got a party fancy dress thing coming up so i mentioned she is welcome to go if she wants. We swapped facebook details :p . Now here's the thing , i saw her myspace page and i was worried that she was 17 nearly 18 " my 18th birthday is coming up wooo " was posted on her profile.

However not the over 20 to which i thought she looked :( . But while looking at her pics/profile to make sure of her age as to avoid ever meeting , the replies were posted ages ago in 2008 , So i'm hopeing that her page wasn't updated going by the pics and comments. Now if she was 18 in aug 2008 she is nearly 20 now only a few weeks away. Problem is i'm 30! , people think i look 21/22 and i have the maturity level of a 20year old. I'm finding it difficult to match myself with woman of my age 30+ , shall i walk away from this even if she turns out to be 20 in a few weeks time.

p.s If she is only 18 i will walk lol

My father is seven years older then my mother, and they seem to be doing fine.

If she likes you, and you like her, then go for it. You're not breaking the law.
Don't judge her too much by her Myspace profile. She probably "grew out of it" when she graduated high school.

Ahh ok thanks , it was just i had assumed because of her myspace page was linked from her facebook page that she was actually 17 nearly 18. Which made me feel like a complete fool lol!. I just hope that she is actually 20 next month :p. It did seem like an old out of date page though , do people still use myspace anymore

But still not as if we swapped numbers , damn my maturity level!

I wouldn't worry about the age difference if she's legal. I have a friend who's 16 years older than her bf and it seems to make no difference. And once when I was 18 I went out with a 38 year old. 8O It didn't really matter to me though. If she started the conversation it must mean she really thinks you're handsome, cool, etc.

Who knows, maybe it'll work out, or if the age difference seems to big, at least you could have fun hanging out for a while. I don't think you have anything to lose.

Hey thanks! , atleast it puts my worries to rest...

I did say to a family member today why is it if a 30 year old is going out with a 40year old nobody bats an eye lid , but say a 20 and a 30 then it's a bit odd

Usually, the 20-year-old is in college. I think it's less of a matter of age difference, and more a matter of being at different stages in life.

I don't see what the problem is with the age difference unless she's lying about her age. If you like each other see what happens. :)

Well now she's a facebook friend

1) She's 19
2) She has a boyfriend and very happy with him

So much for that invite to the fancy dress party , I invited her to get to know her better . Why do i bother

I know you already said she has a boyfriend or something, but in case a similar situation comes up again...I don't think 20 is too young. I'm 19 (at the moment) and have been interested in someone 11 years older than me. I don't think it's a problem as long as she's legal, you two get along, and you can resolve any issues your families may have.

As I've said in other post here. I do NOT think there is anything wrong with a major age difference. I live in an area where lots of women go for guys who are much older than em. It's not uncommon to see 18year-old women with guys around 40. Hell I see lots of underage women running around with guys old enough to there their fathers & their parents seem to accept it cuz there is nothing they can do to stop it

My hairstylist (who I graduated high school with) was a junior in high school dating men in their 20s. I'm not sure if she was bluffing.

Could be but it could also be cuz I live in Louisiana; think of rednecks who live in swamps. There's lots of sex-offenders here  Louisiana is disgusting
