I'm sure there is. You just have to find someone you connect with and can accept the real you.

Amen to that. I'm still looking for that nice girl that will accept me for who I am.

Be careful because there's lots of guys here looking to meet Aspie women. Prepare for your PM box to be flooded

Sometimes I feel like giving up. And that scares me, because I'm only 22. If I already feel like giving up now, what will I feel like in 10 years time?

I gave up for a long haul in my twenties. Don't worry, there's always the time to rethink things.

There was never anything for me to 'give up' doing...I am not the pursuer and never tried to be. Thought it was improper and all.

Of course I also believe that if I tried to be the pursuer I'd bugger it up huge.

I'm 27 & I just gave up. I've been trying for over 6 years & I haven't even got one date. All I got was a bunch of drama. Realistically I'll probably never find anyone who's going to be interested in me let alone compatible & right for me. I have less problems not wanting a relationship instead of pursuing an impossible dream. I wish I wouldn't of been interested in the 1st place because I would be better off now

I personally don't regret the drama, I do wish things turned out differently all the time but at 26 (27 next month) I am still a romantic about it. I've had a long standing fixation on someone, however for years I'd just tell people that ask me they must be crazy. I finally told her, she shot me down, I sent her a nasty-gram (mail with the attention of hurting her feelings) and regretted since a few minutes after I sent it. Am I looking for someone now? Only half-heartedly, but I think at a young age I would say there is someone for everyone.

Is giving up such a bad thing I felt exactly the same way your age , be ready for some serious change of mindset as you hit your 30's (especially so for autistics) I say stick to your pets, at least with out a doubt we know their love for us is geniune :) , and of cause your hobbies , you can't go wrong

Why bother investing your time in a significant other ? B 9 may see them as a curiosity like a lava lamp OR a "squabbling head " I see them as a walking chocolate box all sort as in you never know what your going to get inside , why go for the gooey Carmel when you may end up with the burnt toffee , nobody likes (overly) burnt toffee do they ?

You might get a coffee cream (or insert your choice chocolate here)

What if you're allergic to chocolate! :o (not that I am literally allergic to chocolate, more the opposite...) btw Moog, I still need to respond to your PM, so sorry about that, I had forgotten.

Oh, I had forgotten as well! No problem, sunshower.

I was thinking as I went to bed that a better chocolate metaphor for me might be rummaging in the chocolate box and always coming up with empty wrappers
