I've had some success using dating sites like gk2gk.com and plentyoffish.com. I originally started on OKCupid but it's actually been less of a rousing success. I think it's because of the area that I live in, PoF just seems to be the most popular service. It has far and away the most people in my area that have actually been online recently.

I had my first actual date in about 3 years and it went well. Of course I was a nervous wreck both before and after, but I actually did well enough on the date that she wants to hang out again. Nothing physical on a first date of course. That's just not how I roll. Get to know the person first is my style. I've actually been talking to a few other gals and I seem to be doing well enough. It's been interesting that now several girls have contacted me first, which I didn't really expect.

Wow - I need to follow your example, OP!

I'm actually feeling a bit overwhelmed the last few days. I haven't been pursuing at all and have had several interesting girls just message me out of the blue. I'm now actually trying to keep track of four or five that I'm in the talking/getting to know you phase, which is actually quite challenging for me as you might imagine.
