I made a fake okcupid account with this fake photo:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_I8q00amWBK8/R ... -07-06.jpg

On my real account, only one girl initiated contact with me, and it's there since a year ago

The fake account is barely active, was made few months ago, and got 5 initiations.

Looks, they do matter.

Can't believe that many fell for it... blatently lifted off google images :P

Looks matter since they're the first thing that catch people's eye. Even if you're not the guy in that pic, you could probably help things by choosing your own picture carefully (there are guides out there how to do this).

Probably the hormonal intake stopped their ability to think how fake this pic can be. :p

Haha, this reminds me of an article I read once. An old lady made a fake account on a website with a picture of a 'sexy' young girl to see how many views she would get. I can't remember how much or what the site was, but there was a lot of views. :)

I think looks seem to matter more for those who are seeking a partner but not necessarily considering a family.

LOL...I have trouble believing anyone fell for that. I would think it was a fake, especially if the profile information was limited or sounded contrived.

OMG....LOLOLOL!! ! Thing is, what would these people do if anyone responded to them and wanted to actually *meet*? Even if they managed to fool someone, she wouldn't be fooled any more when some average looking skinny guy showed up to meet her. What *are* they thinking?????

If it's anything like the movies; the guy will make some appeal to the girl when he cant pretend anymore & she would still be interested. Some guys have told me that girls still give them a chance because the looks don't matter for the girls after they've gotten to know the personality a while but they won't take the chance to know the guy's personality without seeing the looks 1st

If you actually want to have some fun make a hot girl account and look at the messages. You will soon figure out what lame pickup lines not to use.

Be careful, some people are reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally pervy. I went on one site, it wasn't even a dating site, just a social networking one, and I put up a picture of just my eyes and I started to get friend requests from dudes who talked about wetting themselves and enjoying it. *shudders*, and then a few messages and I had to give them ranting (you could practically hear the yelling through the computer) messages about to leave me alone. They will prey on ANYONE who puts up a girl profile there, it doesn't even have to be a good picture....so beware.

I´d advice using a my little pony profile pic or something along those lines to prove how girlish you are.
