Ok, I imagine this topic has probably been posted before, but what the heck.

So, basically, how should I know if a girl is interested in me? Especially if we do not talk much? (I do not talk to many girls).

Since I had a haircut (I used to have long hair) I have recieved comments that I am handsome (especially from old ladies :? ) and I have noticed many girls tend to look at me until I look back at them. It would be good to know if this means anything. Also, there are probably other signs I am missing, which would be good to know.

Also, there is a girl I am interested in, and I would like to know if she is interested in me too (I put up a thread about this which is now deeper into the archives). And while I am at it, I suppose I should find out how I could show interest without coming across as creepy or being too obvious.

Can anybody help me with this?

She will probably look at you a lot...when you're not looking. So really, the only sure fire way to know if a girl likes you is to ask her out.

I have no idea, I've never actually seen them personally. /bitterness

But I suppose you are referring to non-verbal cues, maybe you should try to prompt a verbal one, at least obliquely, to try and detect interest?

"Accidentally" refer to her boyfriend in a roundabout way maybe? If she's interested, she'll indicate her availability pretty quickly I would think...

It sounds like those girls find you handsome. The only way to know is to ask them to hang out. I'm terrible at reading stuff like that, so I have to ask.

I don't know. I would just warn you though, it is easy to fool yourself into thinking women aer attracted to you when actually you're just imagining the sings or misinterpreting them. I reckon this is common for aspie guys (I am guilty of it myself - you think a girl is cute, wishful thinking, start seeing signs that aren't really there etc etc)

I think the best way for a guy with AS to know if a girl likes him is to find out directly. Ask her. Unfortunately that is something most of us here are gonna be pretty scared of I'm guessing :P

Agreed. Maybe I was unique when I was younger but I never knew if a guy liked me or not. He had to be very direct or I just didn't understand. i usually just thought guys were being friendly. i thought I had friends when I didn't. :(

Me too. Turns out they were mostly just fake "friends" who didn't really wanna be around me in the first place. The joys of having Aspergers :P

No wonder most of us find relationships/dating so confusing when we have enough trouble just maintaining friendships lol
