I love this vid because it gives Aspies like myself hope that there is love out there and this couple proves that they can work out their own differences and live a normal life like a neurotypical couple. I hope the next time I meet a woman I want to love her (normal or disabled) the same way she loves me

That's a nice story.

I hate how the woman had to keep saying, autism, autism, autism Lindsey, autism Dave [whatever his name was], etc. It was getting annoying. I think I started counting how many times she used the label.

Shouldn't saying it once be enough for people to understand they have autism?

I hate this kind of thing. It makes it seem like autistic people being in a relationship is so rare it needs to be on the f**king news. I had an Aspie girlfriend before, but where was my damn news story?

I find the whole thing pretty patronising, especially when the way they reported it made it seem like we never usually have relationships and that we need to be "trained" by NTs before we can do so

I think Dave's a little too keen. And if i had a piano like Lindsey's i wouldn't need a partner

I can relate to the part where they have differences...my GF and I don't have seperate rooms, but she's a really picky eater, so sometimes we end up making seperate dinners.

Although the way the reporter was talking did annoy me a little bit.

i am embarrassed to say that, when the guy talked about making progress by putting his hand on hers without her pulling away, it kinda brought tears to my eyes. i guess because maybe i felt how hard that would have been for both of them, maybe. to reach across that table even though it required crossing some social and physical boundaries just seemed really difficult. but he did it and she was open to it.

but i also agree that aspie relationships already happen and it isn't really all that "precious" or newsworthy.

I like how they used the term a "Very special" love story.
Since, you know, "very special" is code for mentally impaired.

Does anyone else find it odd that this was a story from Glamor Magazine It's a very sweet story. I've said this before & I'll say it again here~ people with similar disorders/issues/problems can get along much better sometimes than they could with a normal person who doesn't have anything wrong

I thought the story was truly touching and that is a good example how love is, unfortunately not many all people understand what love is.

Here's one thing most people don't know, autistic people can get married, I know some members did and lived happily ever after.

Another thing, why weren't I in the news for that?
