Hi, I am a 16 year old guy who is 5 ft 1. I have also been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. The doctors told me I was not gonna grow any more. :(

Do you think girls like short guys? No girls ever pay attention to me at school, I wish they did. Sometimes I worry I will never find anyone. :(

I'm sorry to say that I think, overall, it will probably make dating a little more difficult for you. But that is not so short that you should despair over it. I would date a guy who was 5'1". I think many women ideally would prefer to date a man who is taller than them, but in practice can be much more open about height range. Of course, there will be women who simply won't date a short man--don't worry about them. There are plenty who would. It will probably help if you do not seem like you feel your height to be inadequate.

This is assuming you don't grow any more, of course. I don't know why the doctor would say that you won't. I'm pretty sure every one of my male friends kept growing into their late teens, one or two even until they were about 20-21. Women usually stop growing in their mid-teens, but men generally keep growing for a few more years. But even if you don't, I wouldn't worry about it too much. :)

Women notice tall guys more, and all else being equal, would probably choose the taller guy, however height is in no way a deal breaker for the vast majority of women.

If she likes your facial features and personality enough, she won't care about the height.

I just Googled the term "famous short men". Try it.

Perhaps you should see new doctors. You are still young enough to take human growth hormones.

A friend of mine was a little guy until he turned 18 then he suddenly shot up to five foot eleven.

If you ask most people, they'll say women generally like tall guys...I knew one girl who refused to date anyone under 6'3" But it doesn't mean that you're never going to find someone. And like everyone else said, I don't understand why the doc said you wouldn't grow anymore.

I'm fairly tall for a girl (maybe 5'9"). I've yet to date a guy taller than me, and my longest relationship was with a guy very noticeably shorter than me. I also had a thing with a guy that only reaches about to my shoulder :P So yeah, there are plenty of girls who won't care about your height. Personally I think it's kind of silly to rule someone out because of that.

Let's put it this way... your 5'1" height is more likely to get a girlfriend than my 300 lb fat ass...

I am tall and moderately good looking and girls never paid any attention at all to me at school until I was 16 and stopped being horribly shy :D
So to be honest I found it's about attitude and the way you interact with and treat people thats important.

Here's an example. My brother in law is short, tubby and gay. My wife tells me at school he always had LOADS of girls after him. The reason was because he was comfortable around girls because to him they were just friends and they had lots in common, and he is fun to be around and treats people nice.

I believe that an adequately spirited person can overcome any obstacle.

There is no way to tell if you will not grow. I think it is very likely you will at least grow another inch or two. Males usually grow into they are 21 years old.

I am transgender FTM. I am 5'4. I have had others interested in me (not that I let it go any further than interest).

If you look good and have a good personality, then why not?

What size shoe do you wear? I would not take one doctors opinion. I knew many that shot up in they're last year of high school. How is everyone else in your family? My ex is 5'8" and my Dad and brother are over 6'. My son ended up being 5' 10" so take all factors into account.

Women generally prefer taller men, but it's not universal. I'm 5'9" (173 cm), and my most recent girlfriend who I was with last year was 6'4" (190 cm). The average in the US is 5'9" for men, and 5'2" (155 cm) for women. She was very into me from day one until she broke up with me. I still have the old pictures, where she looks taller than me. But hey, that didn't stop the relationship while it lasted. In fact, I didn't look at her height listed in her profile on the dating site until the day I was supposed to meet her, and when I found out, I got mildly worried that she might not like me; it turned out completely the opposite.

I read something once where over 90% of women dated men who were taller than them. Now this could just be due to the fact that the majority of men are taller than women.

But just like my ex.. and my current girlfriend both were glad I was taller than they were. Which I thought was WEIRD. But The majority of women are attracted to the dominance of a taller man. This fortunately isn't the only thing that attracts women tho (there are women 6 ft and taller obviously). Things like personality make a MUCH larger impact than height.

You've still got another 4/5 years potential growing time regardless of what the doctors say so I would try not to worry about it for the moment.

In terms of answering your question the majority of women who are usually keen to make sure they date a tall man, are the women who are tall themselves (i.e 5'10 upwards which for the female gender is very tall considering the average is 5'4) which I can understand to a certain extent as I'm not a fan of short women. No one really wants to date someone who looks like a midget whilst standing next to them.

Height has to do with Height.

Biologically tall woman like short men and short woman like tall men.

And vice versa.

I'm a 5' woman and in all honesty, I've never dated a man who's as short as me. Some of my boyfriends have been 5'7, 5'8, sort of average height, and some have been 6'+. I prefer men who are taller than me. I'm very really independent minded (and I'm too clever to be one of those ditzy girly types that some men feel protective about), so I guess this is a way of men to be domineering and protective.

Move to China! There are loads of shorter people there. It's the only place I've lived where I've felt tall! And a lot of Chinese girls like foreign guys.
