I think it's standard for most people, regardless of autistic status, to be attached to their loved ones.

Although sometimes I'd be hard-pressed to define a difference between "love" and "codependence." I'm not sure there is a difference, but I think there's supposed to be.
I'm quite confident that there is a difference. There are a few people I love and I am not dependent upon any of them. I don't need them, but I care for them deeply. I know you meant romantic love, but my answer in this way would be the same. I have none now, but have had in the past. I did not need them, either, but I loved them dearly.
And I love your signature quote, MarkMartino.
