I know its a weird pet peeve I have been hit in the throat before by my evil step mother and it knocked the wind out of me so I dont let people touch my neck for that reason lol and I just hate being touched for the simple fact of growing up in a abusive home :(

When people use the word 'obligated'. It is SO ugly and unnecessary. 'Obliged' (with a soft 'g') is the older and more elegant form of the word, and it is much easier to pronounce.

I'd rather be called "bee vomit" than "honey". At least that would make me laugh.

Some of my pet peeves, in no particular order or relevance to AS:

Waitresses who use terms of endearment like "honey" or "sugar." It creeps me out.

People who smile at me because their job requires it. Not only is it creepy, but I know from working in food services that behind those smiles they hate my very existence because I am a customer.

Being baited into small talk (not the language).

Having to wait in a line while the clerk makes meaningless phatic discourse with the customer in front of me.

Incompetence. I would rather be insulted by a waitress than see her do a lousy job.

Political arguments. I don't like public masturbation.

Pseudoscience. "Quantum mystics" make me froth at the mouth.

Perfume.

Radios set just low enough that I can't understand them, but too loud to ignore.

Affected colloquialisms. I would cheerfully strangle everyone who affects a speech tic such as using "yaknowaddasaying" as punctuation or prefixing every word with "f*cking-".

The taste of artificial sweeteners

This x1000.

I have a lot of one-liner smart-ass comments that only work in the moment. If you miss it, it's gone. I'm not repeating it.

My ex-husband used to say, "And what flew out your butt?" whenever he didn't hear someone say something. That annoyed me even more, so I stopped talking around him unless he spoke to me first and was focused on me.

For me, it's not the questions with the obvious answers that bother me. It's when the same question is asked again. Or if I'm asked a question that I'd already given the answer for. Just listen.

As an adult, that would bother me a lot. I'm glad that doesn't happen to me! I'm sorry it happens to you.

Me, too. I'll only talk definitively about something if I know about it. If I don't know or I'm not sure, I'll say so. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it. None of that is a big deal to me so I really don't get why the disrespect of condescension is necessary for some people.

Some of my own:

1. Asking for help and advice, but then they argue with you based on reasons that make no logical sense whatsoever. Why ask me? I'm not the person to go to if you just want to wallow in self-pity. Disguising it as a plea for help doesn't fool me.

2. Negative people. Nobody can be positive and optimistic all the time, but someone who is negative all the damn time just drags me down and drains my energy. I can't deal with that. I won't deal with that. I wouldn't ever date someone who didn't have something nice to say, or someone who claimed to hate "all people". It was such a turn-off.

3. Inconsiderate drivers. I don't think it's that hard to consider other people on the road and accommodate them. The rules of the road aren't that hard to learn and follow, either. There's free books available at the DMV. So it bothers me when people don't seem to know or care. I won't ride with someone who drives like that.
