What has been the wildest (in a GOOD way) thing that someone has done to get your attention?

Have you ever done anything wild (again, in a GOOD way) to get someone's attention?

What kinds of things have you thought about doing but haven't had the opportunity or guts to do?
What wild action do you think would get your attention if someone did it because they liked you?

Just to emphasize, I'm thinking along the lines of skywriting someone's name or spray painting "I love you" on the high school football field, or serenading them at midnight. Things that really go the extra mile to get someone's attention but aren't creepy or scary... except to the astroturf on the football field but I'm not sure it has feelings. If it does, I do humbly apologize.

Back when I was in my first apartment (a VERY long time ago), a girl and her roommate brought a cupcake with a candle in it to my room on my birthday. OK, I know, it isn't much and certainly isn't crazy, but it is the only story that I have.

One of my friends once turned up at my door with a spare ticket for the gig he was going to that afternoon because I'd said I was jealous. That was a good day. :)

I don't think it was about "getting attention" so much as just a chance to get to know eachother a bit better though. Either way it totally worked because a couple of months later we ended up together.

Stefan booked out a whole movie screen because he knows I don't like going when there's people there.

Never had the guts to try anything myself (the women I like are always unattainable so it would be stupid and embarrassing for me to try :P )

And never had anythign like that done for me. I don't think it's something I'd want. Big gestures like that wouldn't really do anything for me I don''t think. Although I guess skyrighting someone's name or serenading them is usually something done by a guy to a girl, not the other way round, so maybe that's why I'd find it weird)

I would love to be able to do things like that for a girl if I was ever in the position to though. ie the movie thing with em and stefan, that is something I think I would do if I had a gf (who also had a problem with people in cinemas lol)

For someone to do for me, I would prefer smaller things, like a hand-made card. You know like the kind you make when you're a kid. People say that's tacky and cheap, but personally I think that's nicer as you've put time and effort into it. I only make cards for people I really care about. I mean it's easy (and doesn't cost much) to buy some random card from the shop

These are so sweet!! !

Mike_the_EE: I can't begin to imagine the kind of courage I'd have to stir up to be able to deliver a birthday cupcake to someone like that. I think that's pretty cool and pretty thoughtful. You're right that it isn't wild but I think "wild" was a wrong word for me to put on this. I didn't know how else to describe something a bit extraordinary. I think that fits. :)

Em: Stefan is good people!

Gremmie: Great story! That was very thoughtful and wonderful.

Volodja: I agree completely. Handmade stuff comes from the heart and is worth more than any pre-determined saying purchased in a store. But skywriting and serenading can be done by anyone to anyone, and we're not just staying heteronormative about it, either. Those were just the two things that came to mind when I was writing the post that seem to be a clear example of someone going out of their way to communicate "Look At Me Because I Like You". It takes some serious guts, especially for those of us with social anxiety or fear of rejection.

Yeah I have pretty bad social anxiety, although not as bad as it used to be. I just wouldn't have the guts to do a big romantic gesture unless I knew 100% that she felt the same way. Once I was in a relationship though then I'd try and do something special a lot, if she liked that kind of thing

Definitely no serenading though - I think that would scare her off, coming from me!

I know what you mean. We did go out for a while after that. In fact, it is as close as I have come to a relationship. Unfortunately the AS stuff caused problems and she broke it off. I don't blame her, it was the late 80's and no one had even heard of AS (including me).

I had a bf get his buddies to sing a song on my front lawn to me. Even though it was like bad Christmas caroling in a summer month, it was sweet.

I have never done anything wild because I'm way too shy unless I am absolutely 100% sure someone likes me.

And you'll become an idiot when you fall in love.
