On this British TV programme (Waking the Dead) a forensic drama there was this man with aspergers on the episode and one of the main characters in the progamme said about the suspect with AS "Oh he has aspergers syndrome that means he can't have an intimate relationship" i think the man with aspergers was stalking this women and stole her dress or whatever becuase he could never get a relationship.

Is what the main character in the programme said true or is it just down stereotyping and a lack of knowledge?

The damn BBC making us aspies out to be creep weirdo stalkers

Yes when Tv and films do autism it usually is pretty damn w*k. It's much better when its implied rather than directly pointed out and exajerated as these kind of dumb statements occur

Now I have Yakety Sax stuck in my head.

But I agree with Laz, they always exaggerate it greatly, and paint a horrible representation of people with an ASD.

In America do they show the English program "Doc Martin"?

Doc Martin is a poster boy for Aspergers.

Anyone remember that drama series on channel 4 with an aspie character who got to shag his MILF next door neighbour? I would say that wasn't a particularly insulting portrayal at least.
