I want to bring some laughter in this Love Forum...so let's discuss out of whack love scenes that would obviously be cringeworthy in the real world and laugh at how hilariously bad the scenes are.

I'll start it off...

Metal Gear Solid where Meryl literally throws herself at Snake through no fault of her own, although this whole scene is a kind-of love scene.

There are many films that do love scenes just as badly but you get the idea I hope...

Let's all get together and laugh.

I'm laughing already because these aren't real people.

I find just about every scene in romantic comedies where the guy kisses the girl to be ridiculous. It's always in front of a group of people and usually in a way that normal people (even super affectionate ones into PDA) wouldn't do. Sometimes the onlooking group even applauds the kiss. I mean, c'mon.

This was the only love scene I can remember on a video game...there are others too.

Yeah, the friends egging them on and they all go "Awwwwww!" is pretty ridiculous. Love Actually pulled it off better imo....but even then...what was with the whole secrecy of one guy where he held up a board on how he felt.

Edit:

Techincally has nudity in it but doesn't show anything. Edit: If the video is too offensive, remove.

He was in love with his best friend's wife. He gave her the cold shoulder to create distance so she thought that he didn't like her at all. She wanted to be his friend because he's her husband's best friend. After she'd stumbled upon the wedding video he'd taken, which was full of only close-ups of her, and she'd figured out things weren't the way that she'd perceived them, he staged a way to be honest. This involved cue cards so his best friend / her husband and an audio recording of carolers so that he wouldn't bother coming to the door and she could read his message. So he conveyed his message and left. She kissed him as a reward, probably mostly just from the relief that he didn't despise her all this time and now they could move on. His final word on it is "enough now", communicating that he is now moving on.

Not that I've seen this silly movie or anything. *cough*

I think that the love scene in "Taking Lives," between Angelina Jolie and Ethan Hawke was really silly and unrealistic. Especially the broken glass part. There are a couple of versions posted on You Tube.

I understand the concept I guess...but you have to admit it was a weird love scene despite it being a "I'll say what I have to say and be done with it".

I liked that part with Rowan Atkinson where the guy buys a ring for his mistress and not his wife...I felt sorry for her (Nanny McFee!) but he deserved to be caught.

I love everything Emma Thompson is in. She and Kate Winslet make me swoon.

All love scenes are weird, honestly. Except for Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz in Gangs of New York. I loves me some Leo and that scene was hawt.

Cool, they are great actresses. I thought that was really weird 9most of the sex scenes)...although the funny part of it was when a Priest hits an Irish Guy for stating a black guy is in a church (I'm part Jamaican btw, and my family find it hilarious).

Do hilarious romance movies count?.

In case they do I´d have to say the lake house(sandra bullock version) it has a cute concept but it was done in a far more believable way on the previous version so the whole movie seems like some sort of joke to me.

As an aside almost anything Emma thompson is in(I dont want to give sense and sensibility a go) is great and I loved her on Last chance harvey.

Both her and Kate Winslet were wonderful in Sense & Sensibility. I strongly recommend giving it a try.

I dont doubt of their performances since they are both great actresses. Having said that films based on austen´s work seem to have a soporific effect on me and I try to avoid them like the plague.

It does help if one appreciates period films. It also stars Alan Rickman and Hugh Laurie, if that helps perk the curiosity. You can also play, What Harry Potter Character Was S/He?

The "romance" parts of this aspergers high are pretty funny.(if anyone is offended by the video I can edit this comment)

Edit @wefunction Im pretty sure my uncle played the opposite game when he had to take me to see the chamber of secrets(I "had" to see it on the opening weekend and my parents were out of town so they asked them to drive us), at the end of the movie all he was saying is im pretty sure the bad teacher already played a bad guy on a similar movie.
I´ll try to give sense and sensibility a go next time i have company, after all I ended up watching gnomeo and juliet last time so it cant get much worse than that.

They should have considered adding some male friendly things on the movie. For example the only adaptation of pride and prejudice that I have enjoyed watching was lost in austen. It featured the whole foreigner inside regency times and it had some jokes I found extremely funny. Another example I spent several years trying to read pride and prejudice and at some point I allways lost interest for the characters, then someone released pride, prejudice and zombies, I enjoyed the new element and they way it was linked with the original work from jane austen(they made several jokes and the whole zombie thing was used to show some further explanation for how the characters interacted with each other which I felt that was missing on the original work and they kept the original words of austen most of the time).
