I've finally managed to get a date with a girl I met on OKCupid, which I've organized with her to be on Saturday. It's for real this time since she hasn't suddenly stopped contacting me like the other ones I had previously spoken about. The only thing is, she lives in another town and is far from me and neither of us drive (I don't drive because of my eyesight and she's just getting her learner's license). The only reason that we're able to meet is that a friend of my mom's has offered to take us to a Mall in an area close to the town where she lives. So I've heard the point, and I think it's a good one, that I must somehow make sure there's a way to meet a second time, just in case it turns out that we like each other. How do suppose I do that? Or should I not worry about that until the date's over, after which I have to think about other plans?

Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes.

I would worry about the date first. Anyway, well done, and I hope it works out. If the date goes well you can worry about a second date then.

I hope all goes well for you. Don't rush too much. You'll have enough time to worry later. Best of luck! :)

^ This. If you're busy worrying about the 2nd date, you may not properly enjoy the 1st date.

Hope all goes well!

Nice one, this is the sort of thing that actually happened to me as a matter of fact.
If I were you, I'd make the most of it but seriously, take your time and not rush into things like what a lot of people have already said here. :)

How's public transportation in South Africa? Can you take a train or an interurban bus to wherever your date lives? Does it run late and/or frequently? If that option works for you, you're all set. Of course, it depends on the society's opinion of public transportation. I'm from the United States, where it's looked down upon, except in New York and other very large cities. Maybe it's viewed better in South Africa, I don't know. But if your lady friend doesn't care, then neither should you.

just keep your head on for the first date to make sure theres something good goin.

i usually get second dates or conversations started AFTER the first date. ill text her a text message forward so it seems kinda aloof and non-personal and hope a conversation starts. ill text them something random and possibly untrue like "did you try calling me last night?". or ill call her and if her name is jenna gately ill say "oh sorry, i meant to call jenna mason" and try to get some talking going from there. little things like that

Not to worry. It's only something that was suggested to me. I'm not going to let worrying about ruin my date.

That's for the advice. I mostly organized this date through e-mails. We'll probably exchange phone numbers there, so I might phone her afterwards.

Anyway, thanks for the replies guy's.

The date certainly went a lot better than what I thought it would. We went for coffee and had an hour to chat. At the end we exchanged phone numbers and I think we both hoped that we might have a second date. Although, that will probably be sorted out when I contact her again. I think that's pretty good for my first official date ever.
