A girl messaged me on OkCupid and we talked for a week or so, and she was excited to meet. But then after we met and hung out a little, I never heard back from her again. I messaged her and she never replied.
It is hopeless for me. I am unlovable.

I know you must feel that way and be very hurt but it's not logical that just cause this one girl lost interest for whatever reason, you're unlovable.

anyway, OP... one single rejection does make you unlovable.

Girls get way too much attention on OkCupid, there were probably five other guys competing for the spot. You got an interview, that's better than most people. Also, she contacted *you*...most of the time it's the other way around!

You fail her test. She probably said "Next!".

Online Dating is like shopping to most of them, there's no respect for the 'item' unless it is to their liking.

well, yes, and to both genders. except of course for those who send out many many messages a day to anybody at all, or those whose criteria is beauty. there are other exceptions too - people who read a profile with the an openmindedness. but i think the medium itself is not conducive to that. i sometimes visualize that people have a mental checklist when they look at other people's profiles. some people find love, but i think most people do not.

but HEY at least the OP got a date out of it, which is an accomplishment in itself. not everyone manages that, so it is a good start.

At least you got to meet her. My family freaked out and won't let me meet anyone from the site unless I have my brother with me or something. And he'll chase them all away.

It isn't just this one girl. This has been my experience with women my entire adult life. I don't normally even get a first date. The only girl I did have a relationship with was just using me.
And yes, I completely understand why dating sites are a poor venue for meeting single women. The problem? They are my ONLY venue for meeting single women. All the women in my area are already taken. I can never meet single women at work or in public. They're always already taken.
