The woman who I am close to loves Country Music. One thing about county music is it often is very romatic and has a story behind it. There are so many different storys for so many different kinds of romances with their own problems. Wouldn't it be great if I could find the songs that reflect my relationship with her.

No, I think that would be fairly unoriginal. Then again, what do I know?

Maybe some flowers and some candy and good music that she likes.

I guess it would be nice but I thought I could find the right song (using the power of the internet) would really touch her. Because she is unfamiliar with computers and the power of a good search engine, she would really be impressed. Imagine if I could find country music with her name Liz, about a long distance relation ship, about her being a good mother to her children and other stuff, that I shall not mention.

A cheque of 1000000$ can be a good gift.

Well, finding her a piece of music she likes and which has somehow special relevance to her and you sounds like a very good idea to me. It's not a generic present, but something that you have picked because it fits her and the relationship between you two. She'll appreciate that for sure.

Never and I mean never give her a sympathy card for her birthday. That's what got me into a world of hurt with a woman I had been going out with. She didn't see the humor in it.

Sounds like a great idea. I know as a female that women like a gift that is personal. Something that reflects your relationship. Something that you've put your heart and some effort into.
It's very romantic!

I do think this is a good idea....have been given and made comp "tapes" for others ...cant help with ideas though...hate country music...maybe start with what she listens to...any favorite artist ???Rhapsody...10.00 a month gets you unlimited music...you can make your own stations useing a few artist that she likes then they give you other artist thaat are similiar....You can make tapes this way if you hook your stereo up to computor but then need another device to turn tape into CD(sorry I know very little about Tech....just my cheap ass way of doing it)
Just want to mention....what makes my knees weak is when my boyfriend does the mundane things for me that I hate...like taking my car to the shop to get the oil changed or other work (i pay the bill but just having someone do this makes my day brighter)Just a thought for you guys (especially anyone with an aspie girlfriend....Saving me hassle, makes me VERY grateful) I use positive reinforcement and Skinner was right...it works....

Yeah, that's really nice. As a bloke I'd appreciate that, too. I don't need anything grandiose and showy, but I REALLY appreciate anything that reduces the ongoing burden of everyday life.

The fact that some thought has gone into it is nice, too. Thats why the compilation CD is such a good idea - it can provide happiness on a regular basis, it's something practical rather than symbolic, and it means you've been paying attention.
