Yes and no. It depends who's advice you choose to take.
Some in here is giving advice but are just as lost as anybody else.
Some have managed to evolve beyond the first problems of Aspergers. Aspergers only means we have a harder time interpreting social interaction. It is not impossible and indeed some people seem to have cracked the code even though it is a knowledge that is hard to pass on verbally.
And what is the alternative? NTs simply don't know what it's like. Some of them (like therapists) genuinely try to imagine your position and help you but I have yet to find someone who gets it.
We might be blind leading blind but sighted people don't know what we need.

I think in some ways yes, and other ways no.

Like the opposite sex going on about how the other has it easier is an example of yes.

I think As people with aspergers function in different ways some may be better at some things than others - and they are in a good position to help.

Yes it is the blind leading the blind, but some of those doing the leading have already stumbled down the path so may have a better idea of where all the hazards are.

It is better than getting advice from folks who can't understand or comprehend why you don't see the obvious.

Not really. Most aspies have a ton of useful information stored in thier heads. Just not the intuitive ability to use it well.

I've given second-hand advice to NTs who could follow it loads better than I ever could.

Depends. A lot of us have had varying levels of experience with relationships, so we can help each other out, and when it comes to Aspie/Aspie relationships, other Aspies are obviously the best people to ask for help.

If by your question you are asking something like -
Are we like a blind person trying to describe the color red to another blind person (both never having seen red), then no, I don't think so.

We are more like people who have lived with a unique set of problems, sharing with other people with their own sets of unique problems, some of them similar, some not. We are sometimes able to help each other where our problems may overlap and one has experienced it, and the other is just getting into it.

The best way I can say it is that a NT cannot be an aspie specialist, while an aspie can.
Our problem is being able to communicate with each other, while a NT can communicate easily with other NTs.

Hope this isn't too obtuse.

Not quite.

I've had a relationship with a girl that involved sex and i've been on dates, lots of bad ones. Like Leonardo teaching how not to paint, i try sharing with people what they possibly should avoid - not how to do it right :D

This is one of those things you have to assess on a case-by-case basis.

It is in some ways. Advices from some people always don't work out, but its sometimes best to use instincts IMO to lead you through certain situations.

i certainly dont think so.

I think that many of us need a community to talk to, and Im sure most of our advice comes from a third party outside of the forum. we simply choose to share it here......
