I found an interesting piece of software that batch compares people's compatibility by astrological technique.

I thought it might be fun to play mechanical matchmaker with you lot. :P

If you'd like to see how you match up with other members of WP according to this astrological doohickey, then PM me your time, date and location of birth. More accurate birth times, the better.

This might be a crazy invitation to drama, or it could be brilliant.

You can play with the machine yourself by downloading it here http://www.astrowin.org/astro123.php

Some technical background on the method used http://www.astrowin.org/cdyne_3.php

Got two entries in the databanks so far:

OneStepBeyond and Moog --- Power = 393.56 (P*H = -14559.02) Harmony = -36.99

From my brief study, it seems that the Harmony figure is the important bit.

Slightly discordant. We probably wouldn't kill each other.

Quote:
A negative number in the Harmony column represents Discord. (I have seen harmony and discord between two people range from +200 to -175. Imagine trying to live with another person you have -175 with!).

It will interesting to see how things are with a few more data entries. :D

haha! surely the best one can hope for.

you should explain more what the numbers are supposed to mean. or translate them to something we understand, like %

Hmm, possibly.

I figure that once we see a number of entries, you'll start to get a sense of what the numbers may mean.

Of the folks I tried it on earlier, the average harmony score was 6.

Apparently scores over 50 are very good.

Very high scores may be too good, in that there's likely to be no friction or challenge to be found within the relationship.

Maybe I need to humanise this process a bit more. Perhaps some kind of 'love tester' style labels for various harmony ranges.

-50 and below --- Bad Romance
-25 to -50 --- Simmering Loathing
0 to -25 --- Wet weekend in Portsmouth
0 to 25 --- Not Bad
25 to 50 --- Hot Stuff!
50+ --- Heaven on Earth

Ideas welcome

Heh, looked into all of this myself in the past and had a few books on synastry.
Astrology has been one of my main interests on and off for a long time now.
Main issue I have had is time not being put on birth certificates here in the Uk, and only knowing I was born between 2 and 3am, meaning I could be a cap or an aqua ascendant. So, I always put a time in the middle, best I can do. :)

Do you want I should put you in Tea?

OneStepBeyond and Moog --- Power = 393.56 (P*H = -14559.02) Harmony = -36.99
Graelwyn and Moog --- Power = 403.02 (P*H = -10334.73) Harmony = -25.64

For some reason I can't get this cranky software to churn out a result for Graelwyn and OSB :? I'll look into it.

That can muddy things. Do you feel more of a Cap or more of an Aqua ascendant?

Chart rectification is supposed to be dead hard, but that's never stopped me having a go

The way you present here on WP suggests Aquarius to me, but that's only with a very superficial assessment.

I think that looking at transits of planets (particularly outer planets) to houses can help make sense of which is more likely. I'll send you some junk later.

This will take some organising. I'll arrange by harmony, I think, that makes sense.

Henbane and Moog --- Power = 415.19 (P*H = 17078.98 ) Harmony = 41.14
Henbane and Graelwyn --- Power = 403.69 (P*H = 10729.07) Harmony = 26.58
Graelwyn and Moog --- Power = 403.02 (P*H = -10334.73) Harmony = -25.64
OneStepBeyond and Moog --- Power = 393.56 (P*H = -14559.02) Harmony = -36.99

Still won't compare OSB with Graelwyn or Henbane. I'm at a loss, so far.

That's ok. I already know that OSB and I are destined for true love.

This looks like something that deserves its own spreadsheet. And a clipboard.

A wet weekend in Portsmouth honestly sounds pretty swell (I like rain). Then again, I've never been to Portsmouth, so that's probably why.

I'll have to take a look at this program when I'm home. It sounds amusing. Until then, feel free to plug me into anything.
