Oh my god! Those poor trafficked women! It's the patriarchy's fault their arts degree is worthless and overpriced!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/2 ... 13373.html

“Over the past few years, the number of college students using our site has exploded,” says Brandon Wade, the 41-year-old founder of Seeking Arrangement. Of the site’s approximately 800,000 members, Wade estimates that 35 percent are students. “College students are one of the biggest segments of our sugar babies and the numbers are growing all the time.”

There are other avenues they could take to paying off their debt. No one is forcing them into it. I don't feel bad for them at all.

Women have a natural advantage, so they should be allowed to make money with it. I was always against prostitution and thought it was the saddest thing until I meet a successful business woman who was a prostitute. She used the money as start up revenue. If anything, it's patriarchy's fault for making it illegal for women to cash in on the male weakness (as she put it).

Now, what happens to the men who have the worthless art degrees? They are the ones who are stuck.

Nothing American women (though maybe women elsewhere are no different...I just don't know) do surprises me anymore.

I have an above-average income (but I'm also much older than most of you) but wouldn't even consider doing this.

Sex without love feels OK at the time (never great) but is emotionally/spiritually toxic and I've learned through experience that I am much happier without it...

Sometimes I wish I had more money too, but honestly, why would I want to do this even if I did have money? The "sugar baby" wouldn't actually want me, and her loyalty would only extend as far as my wallet. I for one don't want to turn into a selfish uncaring monster...

That's exactly what I mean by "emotionally/spiritually toxic" - and I am speaking from direct experience.

I'd been wondering how the rise in female university students could be explained in the current economy ... now I know.

This is really sad, but not surprising.

Yeah, I think it's also the fact that females tend to be more mature and better suited to the school system. There are more girls than boys at Dutch universities, and they're performing better as well. And they don't have to pay their way through university by doing this either.

Please provide links to a few fair and independent studies that support your sexist propaganda.

It may also be explained away by claiming that the education systems have been "feminized" to the point that males have a difficult time learning in an environment that focuses on the way female learn and ignores the learning needs of males. The claim could also be made that this trend correlates well with the rise in males being diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, AS, and a host of other behavioral and cognitive "disorders".

Haha, apparently I have one year left of sugar baby material. After 25 no one wants you, rude.

Honestly this is quite common. I went to school for fashion design, and have the oddest stories. The things you will see.

One friend, invited me to a party where you can only go if you are a cute looking broke fashion student / designer, or some rich Wall Street guy.
The idea is the fashion people are poor and spend too much, and Wall Street types have tons of money and want nice eye candy to sleep with. I did not go, would much rather die, but a girl I know did go, and found a boyfriend that pays for her apartment, shopping, everything.
Eventually they broke up and he stopped paying for the apartment and she had to sell all her furniture on craigslist, and moved out. Feel bad for the girl, she is nice, but honestly quite stupid.

I know a lot of those "Wall Street" types and they are on the whole very smart, decent guys. If I were a girl I would never seek a serious relationship though, trust me...
