This is interesting. Evidently three geeky guys have become the new heroes of clever pick up lines to get women's phone numbers....One of them used to play World of Warcraft and one was into Starcraft. Three normal guys with a camcorder says the headline. The author of the article swears watching their You Tube videos has changed his life and given him more confidence. He also notes most women hate these videos, so ladies be warned these videos were not made for us....

LOL @ memorizing rigid formulaic scripts and trying to enact them in social settings to attract dates
Of course women dislike the videos-
PUA is for men not looking for The One, but Any One- women are interchangeable, so long as they're willing to have sex and sufficiently insecure/masochistic to fall for passive-aggression.

I read the article, and I find the author's effusive gushing over these three rather embarrassing. Maybe these guys are decent people, maybe not. I couldn't tell for lack of objectivity.
On top of that, he didn't seem to ask any tough questions of these guys. Getting a phone number seems the sole purpose of their game. Do they call these women afterward? Have they actually dated any of them? So they've mastered a type of approach? But have they learned how to socialize, to communicate, to establish a bond with a woman for a long lasting relationship?
It's almost as if the presumption is that getting the number is the most difficult part, and everything after that is easy street.
the guys in jersey shore also have a high success rate; perhaps i should copy them?
what works for one doesn't work for others, and most of these 'tricks' make me feel dirty after only seeing/hearing/reading them, and most i could never actually use without regretting it a long time
This PUA stuff is a joke. It's nothing more than junk science and marketing schemes. Negs are a ret*d concept. Teasing doesn't mean you're establishing yourself as an alpha male or whatever. It just means you're not all uptight and serious. It's really trippy how people can frame the most irrelevant crap into some sort of a dominance paradigm. It reminds me of how people interpret everything my dog does as a dominance move. Yep he must be trying to dominate me when he jumps all over me before I leave or when I come back home. I guess him sleeping on the couch also must mean he's fighting for territory (he has never barked at me for being on the couch anyways). Never mind that he's simply happy to see me back home, is going to miss me when I leave, and that he finds the couch comfortable. People also tell me I need to start manhandling him. Ask my last dog trainer how well that worked out after a hospital visit, a couple of stitches, and blood all over the floor
Ironically most of the fighting and posturing occurs among middle rankers in dogs. An alpha male is not the loudest or most violent when it comes to dogs, but those that control resources and have a calm assurance. And the funny thing is, an alpha dog would actually be inclined to share rather than just bully the rest of the pack and give them nothing but crumbs. I feel the same applies to humans since I find it's mostly the calm and collected dudes who are the toughest motherf*ckers and the obnoxious punk asses who fold under pressure like the p*****s they really are.

So I had an Aspie moment and had to watch all of these videos in succession. I've come away ambivalent -- and I mean that in the truest sense of the word. At points these guys seem rather funny, almost chum-like, especially when they're self-deprecating. But then they do some horrendous things, the worst being a borderline sexual assault filmed as a 'demonstration' on how to kiss a girl you've just met.
Throughout the experience of watching, I kept thinking...is this how my father, their fathers, met our mothers? Did their fathers use such coarse, vulgar language when chatting with their eventual mothers for the first time?
It boggles the mind really.

I'm pretty sure the over-the-top language they are using is more for entertainment than anything. If you wanted to use it as a learning tool, you would focus on the body language and mannerism that they are using, for example absolute confidence in everything you say, strong eye contact, etc.
As for "sexual assault", did you watch all of their videos? Because in this video he directly addresses your accusation.

Did I not say, in my post, that I watched all of them? I'm an Aspie. I say what I mean. So their over the top language is for 'entertainment'. Well THAT makes it SO much better...like when the one dude called 5 girls sluts, watching them get offended and pissed off, then walk away was the epitome of great 'entertainment.' I'm sure those girls (and others they've insulted) would feel oh so much better if they found out it was all for others entertainment. The fact that they (and apparently you) find this sort of thing entertaining shows a complete lack of empathy for ones fellow human being. They're just objects to be manipulated for our enjoyment, eh?
And as I said the sexual assault clip was borderline, only because I couldn't definitively make out her reaction. But the fact that she tried to pull away, turned her head when he went in for the kiss, even said "no", makes it f*****g dodgy at best. It places his needs as superior to hers. In fact, it completely disregards her needs. And his subsequent video 'explanation' was a condescending, egotistical attempt to put those with legitimate concerns in their place. I would have had more respect for him, and them, if they'd said, "Yeah, we kinda went too far in that last video. If a girl resists, and tries to pull away, let her go, instead of forcing her hips closer to you and forcing a kiss on her".

K, I'm just going to stop talking to you now.
the kisses seem an awful lot like the controversial "grabbing" that the unattached Traveller Gypsy males are shown engaging in, on that show My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. i can't imagine a stranger ever wanting to kiss me with no warning, but if he did... he would most likely suffer some painful physical consequences. exchanging bodily fluids with me without my consent could cause a man to lose consciousness as a result of unforeseen circumstances involving my fist and his face.
