The Science of Dating Website Profiles for Men

I have come across many guys that don't many messages and I ask myself what could they be doing wrong? Here are some tips.

Step 1 - Presentation
Present yourself in the best possible way you can, read fashion articles in GQ Magazine and other fashion magazines, study body language, join a gym and start working on yourself. The best way to do this is to post a photo on your wall of someone you aspire to be like and start aiming to be like them. If it is going to fill your life with beautiful women and help you live the lifestyle you have always wanted, why not make a positive change?

Step 2 - Profile Content
Don't list a trait without conveying it verbally, don't write a dating profile as a job application and don't list that you love walks on the beach or an iPhone. Stand out, convey your traits, if you are funny, write a short joke you find funny. Avoid clichés or coming across as generic, make some funny short statements but keep it short and concise. Keep each section as short as possible whilst creating something that will build enough mystery for them to message you but most of all, keep it positive and convey confidence.

3. - Messages
Don't send a long lame line or send a message that makes her feel obligated, simply pick something for her photo or some things from her profile, send a quick funny response based on that and ask her more. Get creative, women receive a ton of messages from guys that say the simple how are you and you are hot or they write a really long message which comes across as creepy. Be cheeky, not offensive, be witty, not disrespectful, there is a fine line and practising will help.

Example a girl said she liked Konami, I sent her a message saying I'll be your solid snake if you are are my Mei Ling, an inside joke for players of the game but it made her laugh and it was a good opener.

Follow these three simple steps and your profile could go from hardly getting any responses to getting lots of responses like mine.

These kind of small talk-y things often just end up my mind being blank and/or bored to death. Don't you ever get such a feeling when conversing? I'm starting to doubt your assburgers.

Why don't you give us a link to your OK Cupid account to use as an example?

Aspergers* not ass burgers...
I think it's super rude to question someone's neurology. You aren't their doctor. People on the spectrum have a wide range of strengths and ability levels and it doesn't do us as a demographic any good to deny our internal diversity and play no true scotsman.

if your comment was being facetious, disregard

also sorry for OT, I'll post a reply to op in a minute

I actually think this is excellent advice.

1. it's a good idea to put your best foot forward visually, a profile photo should be "you on your best day", and I like the advice to think about who you want to be and then work towards that, people may have radically different goals and I like that you acknowledged that

2. show don't tell! excellent
as a gal, I can tell you guys one thing the profiles I've responded to have in common is they had at least one joke that was completely "my' sense of humor, humor is a really personal thing that varies from person to person so if I can share a joke with somebody right of the bat it's an instant connection
my profile also has some zingers mixed in and when I get a legitimate message (not spam or abuse) they're one of the most common things remarked on.

3.) The thing I like best about your example is that you mentioned something she likes because this shows that you read her profile.
I honestly don't think guys have to stretch too much to be creative because literally just indicating that you've read the words on the profile puts you head and shoulders over most messages.
Anything that does not mention something specific to my profile I assume to be someone spamming (sending lots of profiles the same message). So if you come up with something totally creative and awesome and witty, but it's not specific to me...in the bin.

I wish someone could give me more advice on this. This is the most insightful thing I've heard so far, paraphrased:

"What you need to be able to do, when involved in any interaction with someone, is to simply be able to enjoy them, for them. You enjoy an intellectually stimulating conversation with people you like more than the same conversation with someone you don't, right? That 'left over' difference, you can have that, even when the topic is boring. such as small talk. It can be all it takes to derive enjoyment from a conversation. 'How's the weather? How was your day?' I think such subject matters are usually pretty mundane too, but in the simple interaction of asking and telling, you get the chance to enjoy the other person for who they are."

......yea. It's lost on me. Even for people that I like, I'll be bored as f**k if they wanna talk about their day and don't have anything particularly interesting to say. But maybe it'll help you!

For me, a personality is like chocolate syrup: It's great on dessert, but pointless by itself.

Firstly I have been diagnosed by the largest mental health training institution in the United Kingdom and I have documentation but that's for me to know, I don't see how that has anything to do with you. I have arranged meet ups on this website and met many people on the spectrum. I didn't wake up overnight with an understanding or knowledge, it is something I had to work on.

Let me make this point about small talk very clear, if you aren't genuinely interested in someone or getting to them as a person, you shouldn't be talking to them in the first place. If you find them too generic, tell me that you think they are too generic or don't talk to them. The point of a relationship is having mutual interests so if she likes going to the nightclub six days a week. Talking about the weather is something you save for work colleagues or people you are briefly talking to in the shop, don't use something so vague on women you want to be interested in you. Find something that is specific to her, that has emotional attachment and ask her about it.

Here's a chat I am having, I just threw some questions at her that were specific to her profile.

[img][800:768]http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab229/athousandpixels/okcconvo1.jpg[/img]

You just have to know how to do the cha cha slide, stop trying to be interesting and start being interesting.

This thread needs to be moved to the "games and video games" board.

An effective way to make someone who's ignoring your messages (checking your profile and never replying - some websites let you know that your messages were read too) to reply positively, you can make a one more attempt with something like: "Ok, obviously you're checking my messages yet not replying, are you interested? yes or no? if no, then farewell." or a ruder sarcastic version: "Too high your horse to reply me, my majesty?" .

Last time I tried this i got a reply in a minute and got the girl's msn contact too.

This works very well with sites with direct chat option.

Wow, I really love life when I read stuff like this. :lmao: :hail:

Such a biased world we live in.

I would dump her instantly though because of that.

gosh, I wouldn't want to date someone who would berate or guilt me into giving them what they want anymore than I'd want to date someone who was ignoring me

Yeah it's basically arrogance answered by arrogance.

But it's funny and it makes me pretty much not want to join dating sites.

Sorry Wolfheart, I couldn't understand a thing you wrote in your messages (or was those received messages). Or the examples I was suppose to learn from it. Nothing made sense to me. Is it because there is no context to it? Is that how you are suppose to write on these sites?

Well you clearly missed the whole point of it, the point is to get the girl talking about herself whilst expressing your interest in her and conveying positive traits. If you randomly self obsessively talk about something or talk in the wrong context at the wrong time, it isn't going to work.

I gave it some thought and yes, the first step is very important and it's very important that you are trying to attract someone who is similar as well. Like I was saying if you look at a profile and find nothing in common with someone or nothing draws them to you enough to ask them something, there's no point in messaging them in the first place.
