Have we had a thread like this so far to date?

Hope I'm not replicating something old but its one of those topics where it does deserve its own service since we slowburners are additionally seen and covered with so many misconceptions and while we dodge a lot of pitfalls connecting with other slowburn people can prove rather challenging.

Also let me know what your preference is - slow burners 'club', slow burners 'bistro', slow burners 'bar and grille' - I've got 9,999 minutes to perfect the thread title. :)

From urbandictionary.com:

Slow Burner - Someone who it takes some time to realize the amazing-ness of. Someone that you become truly passionate for. Also, anything with this quality.

Example Usage: Kate is a total slow burner. At first I didn't think there was much there, but now, good God!

thanks! UD is blocked at this computer.

interesting idea. i am not sure if the OP means that people slowly come to appreciate him, or that he slowly comes to appreciate others. i tend to fall fast and hard for other people, but it takes them time to warm up to me.

I like "Slow Burners Bistro" personally.

The way I describe myself to friends that are trying to understand why they like me when they think they shouldn't is the following quote. I think this describes a lot of us slow burners:

"It is difficult to like me when you don't know me well and impossible not to like me when you know me really well."

So far, everyone I have said that to has agreed with me. A good sign I think! :D

My odd sense of humor and utter lack of ability to judge others makes me seem initially unrelatable to a lot of people.

In the end, it is these very traits that seem to bind my closest friends to me though.

I don't make great 1st impressions because I'm kind of shy & withdrawn with strangers; people tend to like me more after they know me a bit because I get less nervous & open up more as I get more comfortable. I start to like most any single girl who's nice towards me after I know her a while.
Am I a slow burner :?:

I have no idea if I'm a slow burner or not. I do know most people tend not to like me at first, but grow to love me.

Hmm, I think I might be like this but I'm not totally sure. :chin:
It definitely takes time for me to warm up around people.

I keep wondering if I misunderstood what a slow-burner is. Is it someone that takes a while to warm up to others, or someone most people dismiss at first?

Either way, I fit both.
