No, not an ex. Just someone I know a relationship wouldn't work.

I begin to judge them superficially so I get irritated by the person. It helps me get over them faster. I also force tell myself that it will never work and that I'm not interested in the person anymore. I also make sure to distract myself with other things to keep my mind off of them. This is a hard thing to do at first but it takes some practice to be able to do. I have been using this method to move on and it has been very successful in the past three years.

I'm not capable of judging people superficially. The other things... I've done. Just when I think I'm over it it hits me again... harder each time.

I don't really seek out relationships, but I do have someone that's interested in me. I just want to get past this as it's not fair to the new person if I am still hung up on someone else.

Something cathartic maybe... like making a movie. Or you get the idea. Not necessarily a movie. But could be!

to the OP-
if one is just stuck on somebody who the smarter part of the brain knows is not good for them, one can only remind oneself of why they didn't jump into marriage with them in the first place. one could go through the physical act of taking pen and paper, and jotting down two columns headed, "reasons to marry him/her" and "reasons to run the other way pronto!" and go with the column that has a longer list of things in it. just a jejune thought from somebody lacking the right stuff to connect with another human on any meaningful level.
