I notice a lot of women put this on their dating profiles. I think it's replaced "long walks on the beaches" as the biggest cliche/load of BS.

Not to mention, it says utterly nothing. I love to laugh? Someone's hardly likely to say they "don't like to laugh."

Actually it's kind of becoming a screening device for me. When I see a profile where a girl says that, I know to avoid her, because she's either a) lying through her teeth and is really a crazy git or b)she's not terribly original or aware of how cliche she's being, and it raises the doubt as to whether she can engage in a conversation any more abstract than which is the best mixer at Kohls, or which volume of Twilight is the best (answer: none).

"I love to laugh. Other hobbies of mine include converting oxygen to carbon dioxide and blinking."

"I like to have fun."

What a coincidence. I also enjoy fun.

I'd take it as a warning! My brother loves to laugh... at your clothes, your hair, your mistakes, your taste in tv shows... For all we know, these ladies like to laugh at crippled orphans, or at all the offers for dates they get, or only while sloppy drunk.

Next time someone tells you that they love to laugh, tickle them.

You'll find out if they're lying right quick.

They have clearly been watching too much Mary Poppins, maybe they should quote movies like Fight Club instead.

Love to laugh is like hating hiccups. "Hate to Hiccup".

Yep, you'll find many a cliche looking at dating profiles.

If you want honesty in dating profiles, try Craigslist. Folks ain't shy there about what they're looking for.

What if they have a painful chest infection or broken ribs?

I think travel is a big enough thing on dating sites to call a cliche. Almost everybody on dating sites brag about their travel.

I'm beginning to wonder if what we need here is a "Brutally honest singles profiles."

No pussyfooting around.

"This is me. This is what I want. Any takers?"

My brother met his second wife online. Her profile picture showed herself in overalls completely covered in mud. She's very outdoorsy. She said she thought people ought to know what they were getting into.

It simply means "I have a fun loving personality and a sense of humour".

I'm sick of seeing "I love going to the gym and keeping active and having a beer with mates" on guys profiles.

The fact is, dating profiles are horribly unoriginal and it's not going to change. Just get out of the kitchen mate and try other things if you don't like it.

I think they should elaborate more on & say what they love to laugh at. Theirs many different types of humor & I bet a lot of those women would be offended if a guy messages them using insulting humor & makes fun of their profiles. the women would think the guy is lame if he sent them messages with childish knock-knock jokes, they may not get sarcastic humor, & they would probably think the person is an idiot if he randomly quotes Family Guy.
