A girl I've know on and off for a few years from my neighborhood asked me out via SMS a couple days ago. The conversation eventually went through some jokes and then to alcohol... I've played along thus far and I want to continue (for good reason), but that still leaves the loose end of how to actually approach her. All I really have right now is a partial knowledge of what not to do, I'd really appreciate some pointers from some of the less monitor-tanned members of WP.+

I'll certainly try, but I suppose what I was getting at is how AS can make the entire thing a 'hard part'. Any tips on how to keep myself motivated & stave off fear of rejection? I'm a coder and she's pretty much my polar opposite...

just get to know each other and be honest about yourself.

Accept and set up a date. Try not to go in with any expectations other than the hope of understanding her better.

Don't text her too much or act desperate
Don't discuss anything negative or talk about personal problems

Agreed. Try to ask questions about her and be a more frequent listener than talker.
